Chapter 7

After dinner we got together in the camp's amphitheatre around a huge fire. Everyone still sat only with their cabins, but the groups were not sorted after the cabin's numbers. Us as the Hermes cabin, having the number 11 sat next to cabin 7, which was dedicated to Apollo. One of those kids, a blonde boy that had introduced himself as Michael, sat next to me playing a campfire song on his guitar. „You can play really well", I complimented him. „Thanks", he responded, „Wanna try?" „I do't know! I've never played...?" „Just give it a shot!" Michael handed me the guitar with a smile. I took it from his hands and placed on my knee. The fingers of my left hand I put on the strings near the head of the guitar. I pretty much just guessed which to put where. With the right hand I strummed down, right over the hole in the middle of the instrument. To my surprise what I had just done produced a decent tone. I regripped the strings in my left hand in another constellation and strummed again. I strummed the strings again and again always with new combinations of finger placement until I actually heard a melody within the notes. I was lost in the song I was playing and truly enjoyed what I had managed to create when I felt a warmth and a bright light over my head. As I looked up a golden, glowing lyre was floating over my head dipping the whole amphitheatre in light and warmth. „What the hell is happening?!"; I asked confused, mainly talking to my self. „You've just been claimed!", Michael exclaimed happily. Reaching about his hand to me he gleefully said: „Welcome to Cabin 7, Alyssa!"

I'm sorry for giving you such a short chapter, but I'm suffering from severe writer's block. I hope you're enjoying the story so far. I honestly have nothing else to say. Sorry again. This Cahapter is really short.
