The next day, Ahaan, Ishqi, and Vihaan were supposed to return to their apartment, but Savitri sent Ishqi out for some important work. Meanwhile, Ahaan began getting frustrated. They were supposed to leave for home, and Ishqi had gone out without informing him. Ahaan, unable to contain his annoyance, told Savitri that he would leave with Vihaan.
Savitri tried to reason with him, "Beta, wait for Ishqi. She will return soon."
Ahaan who was irritated, replied, "If she wants to come back, she can come on her own. I have other important things to handle,Maa. Let’s go, Vihaan."
Vihaan agreed, "Okay, Papa."
Ahaan and Vihaan reached their apartment. Vihaan went straight to his room to do his homework, while Ahaan sat on the sofa in the living room. After some time, Ishqi arrived at the Malhotra Mansion and found that Ahaan had left with Vihaan. Annoyed, she thought to herself, What does this man think he is? He always acts according to his wishes.
After a short while, Ishqi also bid goodbye to everyone at the mansion and headed to their apartment.
Ahaan, meanwhile, had dozed off on the sofa. When he woke up, four hours had passed, and there was still no sign of Ishqi. Concerned, he called Savitri and found out that Ishqi had left the mansion two hours back only. His worry increased, and he tried calling Ishqi, but her phone was unreachable. After several attempts, he finally got through.
"Where are you?" Ahaan asked, sounding tense.
"I'm at XYZ hospital," Ishqi replied before abruptly cutting the call.
Ahaan tried calling again, but her phone was now switched off. Growing more anxious, he hurriedly got up, but before leaving the house, he checked on Vihaan, who was fast asleep. Ahaan left a small note beside him, saying he had to go out for some work, and then he rushed to the hospital.
When Ahaan reached the hospital, he saw Ishqi talking to a lady as she stepped outside. He quickly approached her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Ishqi, taken aback by his sudden appearance, replied calmly, "I am fine. What will happen to me?"
Without another word, Ahaan grabbed her arm and led her to the car. He drove in silence, and despite Ishqi repeatedly asking why he was acting this way and if he had gone mad, he didn’t respond.
When they finally reached their apartment, Ishqi demanded answers as soon as they walked through the door.
"What was that all about?" she asked, visibly irritated. "What kind of behavior was that? You just drag me away without saying a word!"
Ahaan, still frustrated, snapped, "Vihaan was at home alone! That’s why I brought you back. Because you don't seem to care at all!"
"What are you talking about?" Ishqi asked, confused by his accusation.
He grabbed her shoulders tightly, his frustration mounting. "You left the house hours ago, and instead of coming straight home, you went to visit the hospital even though nothing was wrong with you."
"I was on my way to home, but there was an accident in the midway. I took the patient to the hospital," she explained, trying to stay calm.
"You could have atleast called me. But no, you just want to do things your way.", he complained.
Her shoulders were slightly aching due to tight grip of his hands. She spoke up with a calm voice. "First, let go of me-you are hurting me," Ishqi said calmly.
Ahaan immediately released her, and she continued, "Second, you were the one who told Maa that I could manage. If it bothered you so much, you could have waited at the mansion. But no, you only do what suits you, and now you’re blaming me."
"You could have at least shown some responsibility," Ahaan retorted.
"I never run away from my responsibilities," Ishqi said firmly. "But you always blame me and then walk away. I am not some object that you can just treat however you like."
"What are you trying to say?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"I am saying that I am not a rock or your servant, Ahaan, with whom you can behave however you want. I don’t understand what’s wrong with you. You show me so many different sides of yourself that I am unable to understand anything.", Ishqi replied in a broken voice.
She paused for a moment and continued, "I have always seen myself as Vihaan’s mother, and I have no expectations beyond that. But your behavior always confuses me. One moment, you are so caring, and the next, you won’t even talk to me. Look at yesterday only-in the morning, you told me not to act like your wife, and by the evening, your attitude completely changed. I already have no expectations, so please don’t complicate things. But let it be, I think it's my problem only."
Ahaan interrupted her, his voice harsh, "The problem isn’t with you-it’s you. You are the problem. You barged into my life and turned everything upside down. If you hadn’t come, none of this would have happened. Your biggest mistake was marrying me, but now that you have, you will just have to deal with it. For your own sake, it’s better if you stay away from me."
Ishqi stood there, shocked by Ahaan's harsh words. She felt her heart sink but tried to keep her composure."I barged into your life?" she said, her voice was trembling but firm.
She sighed, "Okay as you say so. But when we have met at the cafe, you informed me about Vihaan and I was ready to marry for his sake only. You could have said no for the marriage then why didn't you? "
Ahaan stood there in silence, unable to respond to Ishqi's question. His jaw clenched, and his gaze shifted away from her, betraying the conflict he felt inside. He knew she was right, but his frustration had pushed him into a corner. The weight of his family's expectations and his own unresolved emotions about their complicated marriage weighed heavily on him.
Ishqi sadly chuckled and continued,"You know, the best thing that happened to me in this marriage is Vihaan. Since you think that I am problem of all your chaos, it will be better for us to stay away from each other as you mentioned."
Ahaan's heart skipped a beat at Ishqi's words, but his pride kept him from reacting. His anger, confusion, and guilt twisted into a tangled mess inside him. Meanwhile, Ishqi turned and walked towards their room where Vihaan was sleeping peacefully.
Ahaan knew he had hurted her by his words. But nowadays he himself was not under his control. He was conflicted with his own emotions so he thought it would be better for them to stay away from each other.
