After a few uneventful days, one quiet afternoon, Ishqi, having just put Vihaan to sleep, made her way downstairs. She found Ahaan sitting on the couch, deeply engrossed in his work on his laptop. Wanting his attention, she silently walked over and sat beside him, waiting for him to notice her.

“Ahaan,” she called softly.

“Hm?” Ahaan replied without looking up, his eyes still glued to the screen.

Ishqi frowned, frustrated that he wasn’t paying her any attention. She sat quietly for a moment before glaring at him with more intensity, hoping to pull him away from his work.

Sensing her impatience, Ahaan smirked, though he kept his gaze fixed on the laptop. “Why are you glaring at me, Ishqi? If you want to say something, just say it.”

She crossed her arms and pouted. “What else am I supposed to do? I’ve been sitting here waiting for you to notice me for ages, and my husband is too busy with his laptop to even look at me!”

Finally, Ahaan shut his laptop, pushed it aside, and turned his full attention to her. With a quick motion, he pulled her close by the waist and leaned in, his voice soft but teasing. “Well, now you have all of my attention, Mrs. Malhotra.”

He brushed a hand across her cheek, his fingers sending a warm shiver through her skin. He tilted his head slightly and moved closer, their faces just inches apart. As he leaned in to kiss her, Ishqi mischievously pushed him away and jumped up from the couch, laughing as she ran across the room.

Ahaan, not one to be easily thwarted, immediately chased after her. In no time, he cornered her against the wall, trapping her between his arms. He smirked down at her as she tried to keep a straight face.

“Where do you think you’re going to run now?” he teased, his voice low.

Ishqi pretended innocence, her eyes wide. “Who said I was running?”

“Oh, really?” Ahaan arched an eyebrow, stepping even closer. Their lips were barely apart when suddenly, the doorbell rang, interrupting the moment.

“Ahaan, someone’s at the door. Let me go,” Ishqi said while trying to  free herself , but Ahaan tightened his grip.

“Not so fast, Mrs. Malhotra. Whoever it is can wait.” Without hesitation, he leaned down and kissed her deeply. The kiss lingered, a slow, passionate exchange, but the doorbell rang again, shattering the intimacy.

Ahaan sighed, reluctantly pulling away. “Fine, fine. I’ll go see who it is.”

As Ahaan made his way to the door, his casual mood shifted instantly the moment he saw who stood on the other side. His breath caught in his throat. It was Vidhi, his first love-the woman he had thought was lost forever.

“Vidhi...” he whispered, his voice barely audible, filled with disbelief.

“Ahaan...” Vidhi replied, her voice equally heavy with emotion. In a heartbeat, she rushed forward and threw her arms around him. Ahaan hugged her back tightly, tears welling up in both their eyes.

From across the room, Ishqi approached, confusion and shock filling her as she saw Ahaan embracing an unfamiliar woman.

“Ahaan... who is it?” she asked hesitantly, her steps slowing as she tried to make sense of the scene before her. When she got closer and saw the tears in Ahaan’s eyes, her heart sank.

Ahaan gently broke the hug and turned towards Ishqi, his voice shaky as he tried to explain. “Ishqi... she is Vidhi.  See she’s alive.”

The words hit Ishqi like a wave. Her chest tightened as she looked at Vidhi. Vidhi glanced at Ishqi in confusion, before her gaze shifted back to Ahaan, realization slowly dawning.
