3rd Person pov

Veneer's original plan was to leave his parents' house early to head back to his apartment so he can bring a few stuff then leave Mount Rageous during midnight. But his parents still wanted him and Floyd to stay with them for a bit longer. Veneer was hesitant but still agreed because he knew that he probably won't be able to visit them again for a very long time.

But now the sun was going to set soon, he knew that he had to leave already, time was ticking fast. His parents understood and they said their goodbyes to each other.

Veneer walked over to his car and unlocked it then put Floyd in the passenger's seat.

"Wait here" Veneer stopped as he unzipped his backpack. "Huh? What's wrong?" Floyd said, confused at what the mount rageon was doing. "Nothings wrong, just..." Veneer's voice trailed off as he was shuffling through his backpack, trying to find a certain diamond bottle. When he found it, he walked over to the nearby lake and threw said bottle into it, which concerned Floyd. "Why'd you do that?" "We don't need it anymore silly!" the green haired chuckled as he sat on the driver's seat and started the car, "It's not like I'm still gonna keep you in it along the way, unless you still want to live in it, do you?" he joked, "Ah no! Of course not! I hated it in there...the perfume scent really wasn't my type, it was nauseating!" Veneer hummed in response as he started driving, "I understand, it was Velvet's favorite perfume especially during her high school years. I didn't like the scent that much either, its too strong and she puts a lot on herself."

Velvet groaned as she plopped down on her bed. It was now past 6 and she still couldn't find Floyd. She guessed that he already escaped and was far away now. It was all because of Veneer. She made a mistake by trusting him to watch over the captive. He was the reason why Floyd escaped. She really hated her brother for his irresponsibility.

She felt dumb for not having any backup plans and only relying on her "genius" plan the whole time, now that she needed them the most the rest of BroZone still hasn't arrived when they should already be a few days ago. Trolls village may be far but its not like it's on the other side of the world for them to take that long to come. Did they not receive the letter? Or did they not care enough for their brother's existence anymore?

She really needed troll essence in order to practice properly for the concert which was only in 2 days, and not to mention the concert itself! She didn't know where to get more trolls nearby and faster since trolls village was pretty far from Mount Rageous, she only got lucky when she found Floyd in the forest near her old apartment.

She didn't know what to do anymore. She can't request to reschedule the Rage Dome concert last minute because it was already promoted everywhere, but she can't perform in this condition! She attempted to sing without it and ended up sounding like a dying cat! She would rather die than embarrass herself on the biggest show everyone was ever gonna see.

She needs to think of a solution, fast.

Oh, if only a miracle could happen.

Velvet heard the main door open and she guessed that Veneer was already home, but she didn't care. She was too tired to go out and scold him. She was already pissed off enough from the ignored missed calls and texts left on delivered.

A few hours passed, it was now midnight and Veneer thought that it was time to start leaving. He knew that Velvet was already sleeping, and she was a deep sleeper so she wouldn't be a problem.

"So, do you wanna try jumping off the balcony?" Veneer said to Floyd, picking up the stuff he brought. "What?! Are you serious??" The troll was concerned, he didn't want to admit but he was actually afraid of heights."Well, yeah, I used to sneak out a lot when I was younger so I don't have any problem with jumping off high grounds..." "That's because your old house was only on the second floor Veneer, we're now on the eighth floor or something! It could be dangerous!" "Mount rageons don't have bones, honey...well, except for the skull that protects our brains, as long as our heads don't hit the ground, it's safe...at least that's what I think..."

The mount rageon then realized, "Oh, you're afraid of heights, aren't you?" The troll hesitantly nodded and faced the other way in embarrassment. "That's alright darling, you should've just told me," Veneer chuckled. "We're going through the door then!"

Veneer turned into a troll and he started heading out, turning off the lights on the way. "Are you sure it's a good idea for you to be a troll? I mean what if we get caught?" "Don't worry, we'll be fine"

Veneer snuck out of his room and went down the hallway with Floyd following close behind. It was pretty dark so they couldn't see very clearly but they eventually reached the door. Veneer was going to open it with his hair but then the light suddenly turned on making them jump.

"Shit" Veneer muttered. The green haired troll dragged the magenta haired one with him to the side and hid behind the wall. Footsteps were faintly heard, but they quickly went away after a few seconds, the light following, turning back off.  Veneer exhaled in relief as they stepped back out again, "That was close," Floyd murmured. They continued on with what they were doing, not noticing the approaching figure lurking in the dark. They were only to be interrupted by bottles forcefully trapping them separately. Veneer yelped in shock as the crystals were quickly closed with their designated lids, not giving the trolls time to process what even happened.

"Sorry Mr. Veneer, and Floyd, I had to..." Crimp whispered, her voice was filled with regret as the lights turned back on, revealing Velvet happily approaching them.

"You did a good job Crimp, for your reward I'm giving you a raise"

That was the last thing Veneer heard before his world blacked out.
