SKYE

For the next two days, that's what Theo and I did. Talk, eat, and fuck.

We got to know each other and even had some laughs. It was surprising how much we had in common. There was an attack that killed his family, but he had the support of his brother, which was nice. When I got sad about losing mine, he told me that his family was now mine, which made my heart melt.

Nyla has been staying close by and listening to what he has been saying. She has been hanging onto his every word. She felt besotted with him, and in all honesty, so did I.

It was love at first sight.

Theo hasn't been impatient with me about anything. He has been here for the last two days and didn't even go to work. He mind-linked his brother to tell him he would stay here with me. Afterward, he told me that his shift was covered. I was more than happy to be with him.

I looked at the front door again, knowing he promised he would be back. About two hours ago, Theo had a mind link with his brother that they had a situation at the fair and that he needed to be there.

Theo told me that there was nothing to be worried about, but since being here, I have.

Nyla was pacing back fore in my head, which was making me even worse.

"We should go there," Nyla blurted out, pulling me from my thoughts. I looked back at her. Worry coated her face. Something was up. Nyla has never been like this ever.

Moving off the couch, I walked over to the door and walked out. I was headed to the front door when Olga's voice came from behind me. "Skye," she called, making me stop and look over my shoulder to see her coming toward me with a big smile. "There you are," she said, stopping by me. "I haven't seen you in a few days. I didn't want to knock since you have had company."

My cheeks flamed, which made her giggle.

Did she hear me and Theo?

"She did," Nyla said, sounding amused, but there was still something in her voice that was making me nervous.

"Oh, don't be embarrassed sweetheart," Olga blurted out, which caused my cheeks to go even redder. "Everyone likes to have some fun."

I said nothing, but she continued. "Anyway, I made you some casserole," she said. "Maybe you and your friend could have it later."

I nodded.

"Olga," I said, making me look at me with a smile. "Thank you. I will come to collect it later, but I need to get something from the store."

Olga nodded and said goodbye.

Turning to the door, I headed out and walked over to the forest. I walked fast through and headed toward the opening where I knew the fair was being held. I stopped when I got to it and sighed.

The fair wasn't open, but there were people around.

Since Valentine's Day, there has been loads of fuss over the fair which Theo heard. It was a great hit and they even asked them if they could stay for another few days, which was a blessing.

The conversation that I knew we had to talk about didn't come about where we would stay. I knew where I wanted to be, and that was where Theo went, which meant the fair. Part of me was afraid to, but there was a good part knowing that I needed to move on since I had been in the town for too long.

I wanted to talk to him about it, but when his brother's mind linked, I knew I would have to wait till he came back. I was going to ask him later to know what he thought.
