THEO

THE NEXT VALENTINE'S DAY

Looking toward the tent, I let out a sigh.

Everything had to be perfect. It has been a year since I found Skye, and I wanted to make our first proper day special. Not only is it Valentine's Day, but it is also her birthday. I had planned everything down to what we were doing, where we were going, and the night festivities. It was all set.

This morning, we went out to the town we have been staying at for the last few with the fair and went for breakfast, then spent the day doing whatever she wanted—a hike, which led to us letting Fang and Nyla have time to run around for an hour till we got to the top where I had set up a picnic for us.

After the picnic, we headed back into the town, which had a small theater, and watched a show.

While we were out, everyone at the fair was setting up the last part, which was for Valentine's Day, as the day was all about her birthday. Louis had everything set up, and it was something that she wanted.

Letting out a sigh, Fang came close and grunted. "Where are they?" he mumbled, but I ignored him. He was getting restless. He wanted to show them what we had for her.

Over the last year, everything has been plain sailing. We have been with each other every day, which was never too much. Skye is someone everyone comes to when they need help, or even to just chat with.

Our little fair has grown more over the year, gaining more than we started with, and more different shifters. We all had a meeting the other night, declaring that we were a pack and wanted to find somewhere to call home. Everyone loved traveling but there were only so many times we could all do it. But that would mean some of us would travel around with the fair, while others built a life wherever we decided to set up.

The only thing that was agreed on was Louis would be the alpha, and no one had any issues with it. The man was the one who took us in and made us feel welcome, even started this whole thing by himself. He was the father figure to those who needed it, such as Jacob and me, when we came here to live. He also became more to Skye and Reid too, when they needed it. Everyone looked up to him and no one could fault the guy.

Shaking my thoughts away, when I heard a voice call out to me. I looked over to see Reid and his mate, Tammy, walking toward me. Reid smiled at me. "All set," he asked, stopping beside me with his arm around Tammy.

Tammy smiled.

"I think it's the best present," she said. "She will love it."

I grinned, thinking the same.

"Yeah," I said. "Just wondering where she—"

"I'm here," Skye called out, making us look toward her. My mouth dried up and fell open. Fuck, she was stunning. She was wearing a red laced dress that went to her mid-thighs, which had a slit going up one side.

Fang inspected and howled. "Want mate now?" he shouted, sending images in my head about what he wanted to do to her.

The corners of my lips curled up into a smirk when Skye's face reddened. Knowing Fang, he must have sent her the same images he sent me to her. She looked flustered when her eyes met mine. She came toward me and placed her arm around my waist while I pulled her closer. I pressed a kiss to her head and sniffed in her scent. Lately, she has been smelling sweeter than normal.

Shaking my damn thoughts away, I looked to Reid and Tammy, who were now saying their goodbyes. They headed off to another tent that Louis had set up. Tonight was all about the ones with mates. Even Jacob and Matilda had one. They were expecting their first child in a few weeks, which was great news.

Skye looked up at me and smiled. "So, where are we going?" she asked, as I moved her toward where I set up her surprise.

"I have another surprise for you," I said with a smile.

Skye looked at me with a frown. "You didn't need to do all this," she said. "It's all too much."

I said nothing and walked her, but stopped and pulled her to the front of me. I placed my hand over her eyes and walked over to where she needed to be. "No peaking," I whispered, close to her ear.

Skye nodded and walked a few steps until I stood her in the place. Leaning toward her neck, I placed a kiss and looked at what I got her. "Surprise!" I said, removing my hand from her eyes.

A gasp came from her. She slowly turned her head and looked over her shoulder at me, her eyes wide. "Theo," she whispered, glancing back. "How did you... Where did you..."

A grin played on my lips as I moved around her and placed my hand in hers. I pulled her along till I stood in front of it.

"Well, sweetheart," I said, glancing at her while she took it in. "I thought a tent wasn't a proper way to sleep or get comfy. I knew you were thinking about something better since Nyla mentioned it, and when this came up, I knew I had to get it."

Skye said nothing, but her eyes and face were saying more. She loved it.

Over the last few months, or even when she moved here, Skye and I would argue more about the tent we were staying in. She hated it, as it was too small. It never bothered me since it was meant for just me, but since she came into my life, and wanted to set up more like a home, we didn't exactly have enough room. Besides, I was the one who would place it up and take it down all the time.

In the last town we were in, they held an auction on small campers and I bought one. It was the perfect size and bigger for us, and we didn't have to set anything up. Every time we had to do the tent, it was annoying. Skye usually left me to do it, even Matila did the same.

"It's perfect," Skye said, pulling me from my thoughts, which made me smile.

"Here," I said, placing my hand in my pocket and got the key. "Open it."

Skye grinned and took the key, but I knew I had to tell her what we were doing tonight. "Also to answer your question," I said, watching her every move. "Tonight and for the rest of the night, we are staying here. I had some help setting it up for tonight. But tomorrow we can move all our stuff inside, and you can decide on where everything goes."

Skye nodded and opened the door. She walked inside and gasped again. My eyes went to what was in front of her and my mouth fell open again for the second time tonight.

Louis went all out and placed a mattress in the corner, but it was the table in the middle of the room with fairy lights dangling around that made the entire place look romantic. "Wow," Skye murmured, spinning around till her eyes landed on mine.

Fang stared at her and howled. "Mate happy," he whispered.

"I don't know what to say," she said with a smile. I walked up to her and cupped her face, placing a kiss on her lips. Pulling back, I smiled.

"You don't have to," I said. "This is all for you and me."

Skye looked at me and moved her head to the side. "Actually," she said. "It will be for the three of us."

I stared at her, dumbfounded and confused, which only made Fang chuckle. "You damn idiot," he murmured. Only Skye beat him to it. "I'm pregnant," she said, making my eyes widen.

A baby.

We are having a baby!

My heart raced, but I kissed Skye hard, which took her by surprise. Pulling back, I rested my head on hers and grinned. "I'm so fucking happy," I said, which made her smile. "A baby."

"I know," Skye said, pulling back. "You have given us a place we can call home until we find a place for our pack. This is the best birthday ever."

I grinned but nestled my face into the crook of her neck. "One of many," I said, pulling back to look at her. "But not my first."

Skye frowned.

"Last year was my best day," I said, making her breath hitch. "You coming into my life? It all started with you and now we get to have more happy ever afters together."

Skye smiled and pressed a kiss to my lips while I held her there.

Valentine's Day may be the best day ever, but it brought me the one I get to spend the rest of my life with.
