broken glass

The city has emptied,
people are gone
I feel weird in this abandoned place.
I keep asking myself
where is everyone?

The neon lights shined down on my face,
while the stars above me were out.
The mist came back,
my heart felt chained.

I walked the city
looking for you,
but you were gone.

You went to his apartment,
and left me with that broken glass.
The sharp glass pieces were everywhere,
My soul was bleeding just like my palms
while picking the pieces.

The bride went quiet.
The sound of silence was loud,
loudest I have ever heard.
I kept breathing,
hoping I would see you again,
but you were gone into hiding.

My poems have changed,
but my mind hasn't.
