Y/n and Nayeon stared at each other, their only audience was the books that were crowding them out. Not even the two students took a glance at them. It was as if it was their own world, their own place, their own time.
"I'm surprised you're here, Ms. Im. I never picture you to be one to go to quiet places." Y/n said as he chuckled.
"Ahh... I decided to take a walk for a bit. The library is quite big, so why not check some books?" Nayeon replied.
"Well, we had the same reasons then. I even actually found the book I wrote in this library. Take a look." Y/n said as he gave his book to Nayeon.
"Ahh, I also saw mine earlier. Well, I only coauthored it but that counts, right?" Nayeon said with glee as she handed back Y/n's book.
"Well, you should get it. I want to read it. I'm gonna go get us a table." Y/n said with sparkling eyes, seemingly interested in Nayeon's book.
Nayeon blushed, "Su- Sure! I'm gonna go to the chemistry aisle now." Nayeon said as she rushed.
Y/n then went to the reading area and sat on the table next to the two students who were still studying.
"Mind if I take a seat near you guys?" Y/n asked, getting the attention of the students.
"No... it's fine, sir." The boy said politely as Y/n sat down and opened his book.
The male student glanced at what Y/n was reading and his eyes widened. "I've never seen anyone read that book before even though it's one of my favorites." The male students said, catching Y/n's attention.
"You must be good at math, then. Considering this book is one of your favorites." Y/n smirked.
"He's pretty good at math, the best in the school." The female student replied.
"You could say that, but I just love reading works of people that live here in the city." The male student continued.
"That's great! You should apply to the nearby university then." Y/n replied.
"I'm planning to! But I hear from seniors that already graduated that L/n Y/n as a professor gives low grades." The male student said as he chuckled.
While the conversation was going on, the sound of footsteps became louder and louder.
"Mr. L/n, here's the book I coauthored." Nayeon said as she sat down beside Y/n with the male student trying to comprehend what he heard.
"L- L/n? You're L/n Y/n!" The male student shouted as Y/n smiled.
"You should be quiet in the library... But yes, I am L/n Y/n." Y/n said as he smiled and got Nayeon's book and opened it.
"It's such an honor." The male student continued.
"You should really go back to your study session now though." Y/n told back as the two students smiled and went back to studying.
It was once quiet between the two duos again. Y/n tried to read Nayeon's book but alas, chemistry was never his strongest subject. Meanwhile, Nayeon was reading Y/n's book and like the boy is in chemistry, calculus is not her strongest subject.
"I can't understand anything after the 10th page, Ms. Im. I swear I used to know how to balance reactions." Y/n said as he groaned.
"I could say the same with your calculus book, Mr. L/n." Nayeon chuckled.
Y/n closed the book and said, "You can call me by my first name, Nayeon."
A simple sentence, a simple gesture, a simple sentiment. Yet it felt special for Nayeon. Finally, Y/n was opening up to a first name basis. The jealousy she endured when he didn't remember her. The jealousy when he referred to Jihyo, Momo, and Dahyun by their first names.
