candice shot asher a brief glare before returning her gaze to her sheet. as the lesson began, the professor's words seemed muffled as candice couldn't get her mind off of asher - she couldn't stand his attitude, or that dumb smirk he wore haughtily.. she found herself gradually losing focus on the lecture, instead placing her attention to the alphas relaxed and unbothered expression. he glared at the board, though showed no sign of studying any time soon. candice leaned over as her sassy smile caught asher's attention - "need a helping hand there?" the alpha slightly lowered his head down to her view, his seat elevated above the rest of the pupils. "excuse me?" asher felt offended — "if my eyes aren't deceiving me, it doesn't seem like you're doing any work." candice teased as she watched his eyes flash with displeasure. "keep your snide remarks to yourself, muffin. and if my eyes aren't deceiving me, your sheet is looking quite empty, is it not?" he argued back before whipping his head to the professor's direction. candice sat in silence, thinking carefully about her next response; one guaranteed to silence asher enough that he quits his little game with her. "is there any reason for you to be in this class besides provoking me? be honest.. you're not here to learn." asher was intrigued now. "you know, i have many reasons to be in this class other than obsessing over you. i'm offended you'd even ask your leader such a thing!" he arrogantly stated, followed by a few moments of pin-drop silence. "if you must know, im studying hard for this year's exam.. might i suggest you do the same? it wouldn't hurt if you'd like to work together - if you need a helping hand."

asher's voice, entwined with mockery, went followed by a wink. candice scowled before whipping her gaze away from his smirking lips. while asher's words wore a usual tinge of snobbery, she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity washing over her. was he possibly genuine - or simply plotting to get closer to her? regardless, candice knew exactly how she'd handle his pestering, and maybe humble him in the process. "all jokes aside.. i'll take up your offer !" a sweet grin played on her lips, glaring up at asher with utmost innocence.

the alpha raised an eyebrow in surprise, though it didn't take him too long to allow a gentle smile to plaster on his face. asher's eyes sparkled in amusement before he spoke; "as you wish, cutie pie.. ♡"
