Charlee knew how things had been lately. She had been worried about what her mum had said. And how she had all but said she was going to do something to not put her grandchild at risk.
Charlee didn't know what it was. But she was worried. She didn't want to lose her baby. And she knew that things weren't easy. She hadn't told Tom about what her own mum had said.
She knew that it wasn't going to go down well. Especially as Tom had said he wasn't going to let Christine mess with her head anymore. And she felt as though he was going to go mad at her for it. For not opening up to him
It wasn't easy at all. She just didn't know how to feel about it. She didn't want to cause conflict with her mum and Tom. Knowing she just needed her family to work out.
Knowing she wanted it for her baby. She just felt as though it was so hard. And she was struggling with her mental health. She just hadn't told anyone about it.
All she knew was that things were hard. And she had no idea how to even cope with it all. She just needed to focus on the baby. And trying to be a good mum.
Morning came and she was lying in bed with Tom. He looked to her and smiled. "Are you okay?" He asked.
Charlee nodded and smiled. "Yeah. I'm okay. I need to talk to you," she told him as she sighed.
Tom frowned. "What?"
"My mum. She doesn't trust that I'm not going to do something that's going to hurt the baby. I'm not. I promise," Charlee said.
Tom looked to her. He was in complete disbelief. And couldn't believe Christine would think that about her own daughter. He needed to do something to get her to stop. But he just didn't know what it was.
"I know you wouldn't do anything babe. I'm here for you. We're going to be okay," he told her. He took her hand. "I love you. Okay?" He said.
Charlee nodded. Knowing she wasn't really okay. But she just felt as though she needed to open up to Tom. And tell him how she felt.

Charlee went into work. Tom kissed her and walked inside as Lacey came over. "Hey. What's up?" She asked.Charlee looked to her. "I told Tom. About what my mum said. And he said he's going to talk to her. I'm just fed up that she doesn't trust I can be a good mum. I'm not that bad am I?"
"No you're not. You're lovely. And I think you're going to be a fantastic mummy," Lacey told her as she smiled and took her hand.

Tom walked into the office where Christine was. Max was there too. Tom sighed. "Keep away from Charlee. She's vulnerable. And she doesn't need you messing with her head," he told her.Christine rolled her eyes. She smiled. "I'm just trying to do what's best for my grandchild. And maybe that is me taking custody when it's born," she said.
Tom shook his head. "That's not happening. I will do whatever it takes to keep my child safe," he said as he turned and walked off.
Unaware of the war he was about to start with Christine Mulgrew.
