You fiddled with your phone, unsure of how to write the message as you had written and deleted it time and time again already. Robin's name stood like a beacon on the messenger app, her last message from a few weeks ago as she asked how you were doing and could meet up soon again. She had missed talking to you freely and you figured Nami had been amusing yet tiring for the black haired woman again. Your phone dinged softly, a different message popping up in your screen before it disappeared again.

Law.

There hadn't been a moment where you had needed him again as the plan to free Killer had already been resolved. Killer had paid Law with a favour, but the man had kept your number just in case, it seemed. 'How are you doing?' Your brow raised a little at the seemingly innocent question if it wasn't for the fact that Law knew Killer's character maybe better than you did at the moment. Only yesterday Killer had frowned upon the fact that you had gotten a message from Sanji, the notification popping up on screen when he was holding you against him on the couch, cuddling for a moment. Killer had huffed, his mood souring until your phone laid forgotten on the coffee table in front of the couch and you had peppered his face and neck with kisses, his fingers digging into your sides as he pressed you against him. It seemed that showing affection was the only way to appease the man lately. Looking around the room and straining your ears for any sign of Killer, you closed the message to Robin completely and tapped on Law's name instead, thinking about how to answer.

'Physically I'm fine. Feels a bit locked up, but Killer wants to make up for lost time in his own way.' You typed out, being vaguely honest with the man you didn't truly know. Who knew if your messages would come back to bite you after all.

'And mentally?' Law typed out. Three dots appeared next to his name, his tattooed fingers probably still typing out a message until it was deleted. No follow up message came from him for the time being. It made you pause. 'How do I feel about it all? It was strange at first. There were so many changes and while I didn't remember Killer and his behaviour towards me clearly, it still felt... forced in a way. It seems like I have to accommodate to him to revert back into a pattern of behaviour that was from before I lived on without him.' You thought to yourself, your phone locked and hung in your hand. But you couldn't truly be open about it towards Law, right? Kid was out of the question as well, as they were friends. Or was there something else between them as well? You thought back to the time spend with the both of them when Killer forced on different techniques to make you remember one way or another. Kid did seem afraid of Killer at one point and it made you wonder if it was because he faked it for the sake of what was happening that time or because there was more to it.

You frowned slightly before tilting your head back against the armrest of the couch, looking at the ceiling. A heavy sigh fell from your nose as you let the questions just run amok within your mind. Besides Kid and Victoria, you also wondered whether Killer had other friends as there had been several visiting Killer, but only seemed to be a blur to you. None had been introduced to you, like either you or them were an embarrassment to Killer. You bit your bottom lip, deep in thought as your phone fell to your lap. A soft and short humming sound fell from your lips. You closed your eyes after a while, feeling overwhelmed as more stimuli filled your head. Your mind was overflowing with confusing things that had happened and is still happening; with the double meanings in Killer's spoken words and his evasiveness of certain subjects; how he didn't seem honest at certain moments... Another deep sigh left your nose and you jolted as something touched your head, noticing Killer standing over you, his hand cupping your cheek tenderly. The scars on his hand felt rigid against your skin, bumps that rubbed over it more than his actual touch.

"You okay? I've been calling you at least a few times now." He spoke, his brows furrowed and his head cocked to the side. You hummed softly in response before you groaned as your head felt so heavy and your neck had been bend at such a strange angle. Your gaze drifted to the clock. 18:34. 'He's late.' You thought as Killer cupped the back of your head and helped you up slightly.
