Chapter 11

2 weeks has passed

The days were always the same: Wake up, trying to sleep, trying to understand what it was going on, worrying, being scared, laughing.

So-Yun told Jennie about Taehyung and she said: "WHAT! Is he here too? DO you know if my other friends are here too?"

"Jennie i don't know. It was not the very first question that came to my mind. I'll ask."

"WHAT?! where is he? and first of all... what did you guys talk about?"

"Do you remember we're leaving in a bunker and something tragic is happening outside? Do you?

"The days are always the same here and we didn't get to know what is going on out there. I think at this point is useless worrying about something we don't know. So... most importantly, when did you guys meet?"

"I was last week and..."

"Last week?! and you tell about this just now?! "

"Yeah... anyways, we talked about what's possibly going on and where is staying with his family..."

"Where are they?"

"He said next to the convenient store, the one with the green texts"

"Oh, It's basically over there. Should we go and visit?"

"I don't think is appropriate."

"Why?"

"There is a slightly change that we're going to die since we're here for about 2 weeks. People are still worried and some people, like you, are already moving on from this situation and thinking we're living a normal life right now."

"I want to talk about something normal for just a day... i know that things are changed. I know what is going on, i'm not stupid. I just wanna feel like a normal person living and talking about something normal. I don't wanna think we're going to die or stuff like that..." Jennie said with tears in her eyes.

"It's not what a meant. I don't think you're stupid... I'm just saying that it's indelicate talking about stuff like this now."

That night tough, things changed... forever.

Before sleeping, So-Yun and her family talked about some funny episodes during both So-Yun and Jennie childhood. They all laughed a lot. So-Yun felt overwhelmed since those moments of full joy did not always happen. She always felt she was not enough but now she felt seen, appreciate for who she was. Intellectually and physically.

She fell asleep with a happy smile on her face.

In the middle of the night, in the deep of silence. Noises of shooting.

So-Yun woke up like other people in there. They looked at each other trying to understand the noises. Again. Shooting. 

Breaking glasses. Windows, So-Yun thought. At some point, an explosion.

Her family woke up too and the others who were awake, woke their relatives by shaking they bodies.

"What was that?"  Asked Eun-Seo.

"I don't know but it's not good..." Said Jennie.

Their father caught their attention, looked straight in their eyes and said: "If something will happen, we're stay together. Never lose family. Understand?"

So-Yun and Jennie looked at each other and then looked at Eun-Seo and then said: "Yes,Dad."

Here it was. The moment So-Yun always worried about. It came.
