So-Yun and Jennie took the subway and went to the nearest Olive Young since Jennie needed some makeup and skincare products. So-Yun was following and studying everything her sister was buying. She didn't know that much about makeup or skincare so she was trying to learn from what her sister was putting in her shopping chart.
While they were walking in the hallways, So-Yun heard some girls talking about other missing people in North Korea... The problem was coming, it was near. Again that feeling of danger. It was like someone was throwing cold water towards her back.
"I think this color would look amazing on you" Jennie said, taking So-Yun back in the real life.
"What?"
"This lipstick. It would look good on you"
"Jelly Pink?"
So-Yun was not a fan of bright colors and particularly about pink. She mostly liked cold toned colors for lipsticks and dark colors for clothing.
"Yes! it would light up your face! you'd look good with this"
"You think so?"
"Look"
She tried the lipstick on her lips while looking herself on the mirror above the makeup shelf... it was not that bad. She saw herself... like one of them. Feminine.
"Oh... i look good with this."
"See? you should buy it"
It was about 15.000 Won. It was cheap. If she would buy it in New York it would cost double of the price. They continued to going around Seoul and they started to talk about some episodes happened in school. Actually they were talking about Jennie's stories since So-Yun didn't have close friends.
"If you want we can go to Yeouido Hangang Park and meeting some of my friends. I would like to introduced you to them. Would you like that?"
She didn't want to deny her sister invitation but the idea of meeting some strangers made her anxious. If they wouldn't like her? if she wouldn't like them? A series of question started to go around her mind.
The park was not far from where they were. If they would go by subway it would only take 40-45 minutes.
They were about meeting her sister's friend group and Jennie seemed particularly enthusiastic. instead So-Yun was about having a panic attack.
"You know... one of my friends is about your age. He's cute... if you're interested..."
"Thanks but i'm not interested having a relationship with anyone..."
"I just said he's cute not you having a relationship with him..." Said Jennie while laughing.
"It's the same" Said So-Yun pouting.
The day was a sunny day and the temperature was definitely perfect. It was too hot either too cold. Summer was about to come with his hottest temperatures.
The trees were green and some of them were blooming, the breeze was fresh and their skin was glowing under the rays of sunshine. The smell of cut grass was fresh and it was entering inside their nostrils.
"Hi guys!"
It was a group of five people: 2 girls and 3 boys.
So-Yun already knew who "the guy who was about her age" was. He looked older from the others.
"Guys i want to introduce you my sister, So-Yun!"
So-Yun never met her sister's friend. She didn't feel the need to or simply, she preferred to invent an excuse in order to avoid any contact with any sort of people. This time tough, she couldn't invent any excuse.
"Nice to meet you guys, i'm So-yun and i'm 17."
The group greeted her except the "guy of her age" who greeted her as the last one.
"Nice to meet you, i'm Taehyung. I'm 22." Said the guy while doing a bow and then smiling at her. The smile then became a pouting. A shy smile.
Jennie was right... he was cute... no... he was extremely beautiful.
The fact he was 22 made So-Yun uncomfortable. In order to calm herself she thought she was about to be 18 soon...
Her sister started a conversation with the other guys planning leaving So-Yun with Taehyung. Everything was definitely planned.
"So you're 22 but you're going out with my 16 year old sister? kinda creepy don't you think?"
"Actually no. My brother, the one ver there, he's 16 and today asked me if i wanted to join his group. He said there would be a girl about my age that i could talk to."
"Well, we're actually the same age..." So-yun said laughing.
"Well... no but you seem older. More adult."
It was the first that someone said that to her.
"You're the first person who's says this to me."
"Maybe it's the hair. It looks good on you."
Was she really having a conversion with such good looking guy and even... older that her?
A conversation that was even goin well.
"Thank you, my mom cut it a couple of weeks ago."
He's really good looking thought So-Yun. He was wearing kaki elegant pants, a belt in shiny brown leather on his waist with a gold buckle, a white linen shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He kinda had the same style of her father...
On his wrist, a gold vintage watch and on his foot, Gucci loafers.
Jennie hit the target. So-Yun didn't want to fall in the abyss of her emotions and becoming obsessed over a guy.
he was very charming, yes, but she would stays in Seoul only for 3 months and then she would go back home. It wouldn't make sense meeting someone, moreover a guy, knowing she wouldn't ever see him again.
