The day ended with So-Yun and Jennie leaving the park at 6 pm. While they were walking to the subway, So-Yun was still thinking about Taehyung.
As the first serious conversion with a guy that definitely out of her league, it went good. Even more than just good.
"So... what you think about Taehyung?"
"He was... nice. Interesting."
"Oh c'mon! you were staring at him the entire time! You didn't even look at me when i fell when i told you to get back home!"
"Ohh! well first of all i was not staring at him. I was fascinated about the things he was saying and..."
"C'MON! It's obvious you clearly liked him." said Jennie laughing out of her lungs.
"Ok, well it certainly a awesome, good looking guy and yes, i was attracted by him but honestly, i don't want to get more involved into this."
"Oh for the love of god. Why?! you're always complaining about how you would like a relationship and now that guy came into the game, you don't want even try?!"
"I'm always complaining about having a relationship because the type of love i want is unrealistic and that is because my type only lives in books and movies. If we talk about REAL relationship... well... i don't want it. I might get hurt and..."
"Ending like your parents?" Asked worried Jennie.
"Yes. I don't wanna open up and reveal things nobody knows to someone who'll eventually become a stranger."
"If you think like this, you'll never experience life tough."
While they were walking to get the subway tickets, somebody was yelling to the phone.
"What do you mean Eun disappeared?! Why are you screaming?!".
A man about the age of his father was yelling in front of them and all they could see was this man having a crisis and yelling he would get home as fast as possible. While he was panicking, he ran out of the subway.
In the subway, other people were panicking at the phone. They were not yelling but they were visibly in a state of panic and worrying while they were talking.
So-Yun could listen a little conversation between a mother and her child of probably 7-8 years old.
"Dae, listen to me, you and mommy are going to grandma's house ok? we'll wait for daddy there."
"Grandma lives between the trees and mountains and..."
"We're going there for a little holiday ok? we're gonna have fun, i promise."
So-Yun grab her sister arm and said: "Jennie, there something wrong."
"What you mean?" Jennie asked while staring So-Yun's eyes with a bit of concern.
"Look around, people are panicking while calling, that man at subway entrance run out screaming at the phone talking about someone disappeared and now i heard that lady over there saying to her son they're going to the countryside for a "holiday" with a weird voice. Something is wrong, call dad."
"You think is about what the news were talking?"
"Yes. Call dad."
Jennie grab her phone and call their father. her phone cover was funny: a purple cover with hearts, bunnies e ribbons. It matches her nails.
"He doesn't answer. I'll call mom."
So-Yun started panicking like the other people. Her breath became heavier and her face started to get red as she could feel her body temperature rising.
"Mom!"
"Jennie! Are you girls good? when are you coming back home? Are you guys having dinner at home or are you planning eating out?"
"No, i mean yes. Dad is not answering at the phone..."
"That's weird, he went out to get groceries."
"Mom, he always answer at the phone..."
So-Yun phone rang. It was her father. She looked at her sister and tapped on her arm. She showed the text "Dad" on the phone to her. She picked the call.
"Dad! are you okay?"
"So-Yun! are you and Jennie ok? listen to me, you have to back home NOW."
"Hold on dad, what is going on... dad!" So-Yun violently whispered at the phone.
Jennie was still at the phone with Eun-Seo but she was looking at her worried.
While her father was explaining to So-Yun what it was going on, she could her some screams through the call.
"So-Yun! go home and lock everyone inside! when i'll come i'll call you."
"Ok, i'll do it. Dad, where are you?"
"I'm close to the apartment, you guys don't worry about me, go home and stay there. Explain everything to Eun-Seo. I'm coming." He hang up.
"Ok, mom, mom listen, stay at home we're on the way, ok? don't go out." Jennie said to Eun-Seo after she saw her sister face.
"What did he say?"
"He said he's close to the apartment and we have to run back home. We have to locked ourselves in and when he'll arrive he'll call me. I heard people screaming while he was talking. Check on the news."
Jennie instantly searched for some news but there was nothing on the web.
"Go to Instagram or TikTok then." Said So-Yun.
Nothing.
"What is going on?!"
Once they arrived at their stop. They immediately run out holding each other hand. They were sweating and red on their face.
While they were running back home they could see other people running; men with their working bags, women with shopping bags and mother holding their children hand's or strollers.
So-Yun missed a heart beat. Her mother.
"My mom! i have to call my mom!"
"First we have to get home, run!"
They both run as fast they could still holding their hands. they never run so much in their entire life. Not even during P.E.
Once they got the apartment, Jennie struggled to put the password at the entrance so So-Yun helped her. They took the stairs instead of the elevator. Thank god the were at 3rd floor.
"Mom!Mom!" Jennie screamed.
"Girls, Hi! how wa..."
"Mom! listen! something weird is goin on out there! people are screaming and running at every corner!
"What?"
"We have to wait for dad here. Once he'll be here he'll call So-Yun."
So-Yun was still at the door, without shoes, taking deep breath for the previous run. Her head was overthinking, almost having a heart attack. What if something happened to her mother.
What if something happened while she was alone.
