DiamondDust: A JJBA SDC AU fic

Chapter 2

The group stopped for a bite at a local restaurant, four teas and a milk were on the table with Josuke happily sipping on his highchair. "So, what do you guys wanna order? Not that it matters much when everything I ever had here's been so good, you'd wanna lick the plate." Joseph asked. "They've even got shark fin soup here. Not my first pick but it's a classic." 

As they looked at the menu, a platinum blonde man approached. "Excuse me, I see you're able to read the characters on the menu here. It has been a couple years since I've been here, and my Chinese is a bit rusty." He introduced. Jotaro gave him a dirty look, but the stranger seemed harmless enough. "Is something the matter?" 

"Oh, it's nothing, my grandson's always like that. You should see how he yells at anyone actively annoying him." Joseph joked. "How about you sit with us? One more order won't hurt." 

An extra chair was pulled up to the table as their order came. Rice porridge with beef strips, a whole fish, fresh clams and even roast frogs. "Uh, are you certain about this, Mr. Joestar? I don't think I've ever seen any dishes like this before." 

"Give it a try, Kakyoin. It's all on me anyways, let's dig in."
With that the group munched with Joseph eating most of the food since Jotaro and Kakyoin were a bit iffy about the food. Though Kakyoin tried more things than Jotaro, who just ate a bowl of rice porridge with beef.

"Jotaro why didn't you even try some of this stuff? It's good." Joseph stated. "Yare yare, I just don't like eating fish. I respect them too much." Jotaro explained.

The stranger paused as the group was yapping. He was having such a good time he forgot why he came over there. "Ahem... Your name is Joestar, right?" The platinum blonde asked."Hmm? Yeah, why what's up?" The old man asked. "Well, I have a task I have to fulfill... And..." The man stated. Kakyoin, having insight, saw the flesh bud in the stranger's very exposed forehead.

"Mr. Joestar look out!" Kakyoin exclaimed when suddenly a sword appeared, hitting the table. the group looked at the stranger who had a silvery humanoid thing near him. He was a stand user.

Avdol responded immediately by summoning Magician's Red, sending a fireball towards the stranger. "Another one of DIO's cronies I presume?" He hissed. 

"My name is Jean Pierre Polnareff, and my stand, Silver Chariot will reduce you to streamers." Polnareff smirked. "You must be Avdol, the one who ran from DIO the moment you saw him?" 

The dark-skinned man held his ground, the two stands out made Josuke distressed. "You truly believe you can defeat me? You boast of your stand's power, can you live up to the claim of tearing us apart like this?" 

"You're doubting me, huh? In that case, I'll duel you, one on one. Of course, this tiny restaurant is barely enough to show off Silver Chariot's full potential." Polnareff declared. "I would say you should all surrender if I win, but I don't think DIO would have any use for dead bodies." 

"Well then, I accept your duel." Avdol replied cooly. The rest of the team was about to but in, only for the fortune teller to raise an arm at them. "Don't, this is my fight alone." 

Polnareff led the way out, towards an open area filled with statues. Josuke was shaking as he remained in Jotaro's arms, watching intently as the two stand users prepared themselves. "It's going to be alright, I hope." The ravenette teen whispered to him. "Avdol knows what he's doing."

With that, Polnareff went in, no thought of what to do other then attacking. That was his first mistake, since just going in leaves his defenses open. Avdol used that to his advantage as he hit Polnareff with Magian Red's special ability, Crossfire Hurricane.
