Susie Campbell looked at herself in satisfaction. Her wavy brunette hair styled in the latest fashion and her silky claret red dress has a nice simple yet detailed collar, white with black swirls. The sleeves are puffy lantern sleeves because it's not warm enough to wear short sleeves yet, the skirt flows perfectly below her knee, just how she liked it. She always had a preference towards the reds and blues, balancing the passionate grace with an air of innocence.

It's been a year since her relationship with Sammy Lawrence was proclaimed official. Stepping into a pair of classic black stiletto heels, she was eager to meet him for their date this evening. Fridays are usually wonderful at dusk, because that's when the excitement for the weekend starts. She remembers Sammy's note, written in perfect calligraphy:

Meet me at the café after the first ombre of dusk.

That's when she closed the door behind her, hailing a cab. That familiar street soon flooded with various shades of colour in front of her eyes as they flashed, turning into strips of light. Everything soon retained their shapes when the cab stopped at an old fashioned café. This must be where Sammy will meet her.

And there he is. He stood outside, in a gray blazer, a merlot red vest and a white shirt underneath. A simple black bowtie became the major adornment.

Susie ran over to him with an embrace as Sammy accepted it with open arms.

"Wonderful, isn't it?" Susie softly exclaimed, "A romantic day marking the start of us." She's always been a fan of Valentine's Day. All the roses, the passion, you get to dedicate them to your beloved ones. And you will also realize how beloved you are. But these years, it's not just her. Alice Angel made her even more beloved due to the cartoon character's popularity. And what made Valentine's Day even more special is the fact that one year ago, right at this moment, at the ombre of dusk, Sammy Lawrence, the music department director, the talented composer, but most importantly, the man she loved so passionately, confessed to her.

Sammy cracked one of his rare smiles, and led her into the café. The chatting started soon enough after they found a nice window seat and ordered their food.

"This place was Arlene's favourite as well," Sammy explained, "And she kept on insisting me to bring you here." The café isn't the largest, but it is great for setting the old-fashioned romantic atmosphere with its dark chocolate brown interior, checker paved floor, and simple round ornate tables. It's like something out of a movie.

"Well, she's got great taste then." Susie smiled at the mention of Arlene. Being the sister of Sammy Lawrence, Arlene is certainly a wonder as well. Her chaotic but brilliant imagination and technique landed her in both the art department and the Heavenly Toys. But she and Sammy have just the same amount of sarcasm as their talent. Susie still remembered seeing her spit poison upon the sight of a Bendy doll with a crooked smile.

"And speaking of Arlene, she's always been quite a matchmaker. And really, thanks to her, I met an angel like you." Sammy remarked romantically. They both blushed at the nickname he gave her. When it comes to nicknames, it can be cringe at first, but as you get used to it, you know how strong your relationship has gotten.

"Oh, stop flattering me, Mr. Lawrence!" Susie playfully batted her eyelashes, but swelled with pride internally. She really is destined to be Alice Angel.

"Then, let me, at least, do this." Sammy walked towards the piano on the stage. There was barely anyone in the cafe, so he couldn't care less about showing off this time.

"And I wanted to dedicate this piece to you, my angel." He used the nickname he gave her again.

Sitting on the stool, he looked nothing like someone who works in a cartoon studios, but a professional member of an orchestra. Slender, pale hands graced the black and white keys, the aroma of the sweet melody glazed his gaze and fluttered like the most elegant butterfly, just like Susie's heart at this moment. That's when she walked up and danced to its rhythm like if she is guided by the spirit of that angel she is destined to be.

Both Sammy and Susie were oblivious to the small applause coming from the the barista, as their lips touched and tasted the sweet aftermath of art. Back at their table, Sammy carefully licked off Susie's sweet raspberry lipstick, secretly wishing for that flavour to linger on and on. Susie giggled at this adorable sight and continued eating her spaghetti.

Walking hand in hand on the streets, fireworks danced in the sky, granting all the world's lovers a romantic finale to this day.
