I somehow had Joey Drew's number stored in the back of my mind, thanks to Arlene's brain, I guess. I dialled him on the old-fashioned telephone, and heard a boastful voice answering.
"Good morning! Arlene or Sammy?" Joey greeted me. "Hi Mr. Drew, this is Arlene," I replied, "I know it's the weekend, and I shouldn't be bothering you, but. Sammy probably won't make it to work on Monday." I decided to make this simple because I don't want to sound annoying or anything.
"Now, that's bad news, don't you think, Arlene?" He replied in a tone which I find quite annoying. It sounded nonchalant, like if it's a minor mishap. Well he's my brother! That's the first thing that came to my mind. He's my brother! Wait. He's not my brother, he's Arlene's brother. But why do I feel such a familiar presence within him!? Why!?
"Well, yeah, this is certainly bad news! But the fans can wait, Mr. Drew." I reasoned. There must be some other way. It's not the end of the world if kids can't watch their favorite cartoon on that day. Right...? Anyway, I wait for his reply.
"But everything is so close to complete, and I run quite a tight ship. With Sammy's talent, this task must be easy for him." Wow, I can only say, he has absolutely no idea of the idiom: Put yourself into someone else's shoes.
"And I hate to be blunt, but Sammy really can't work in this state. Like, I'm not doubting his talent but won't it be easier for him to compose if he recovered?" I insisted, "Also, you might be accused of employee abuse! We can just announce the fact that Bendy is taking a short break this week! And encourage kids to come up with their own ideas for the episodes! This will improve the fanfare, and create less work as well!" I declared. Why is everyone a workaholic in Joey Drew Studios? I really don't get it.
"Wow, Arlene! I never expected you to have such a talent for management. But yes, it's a brilliant idea. We can announce it on the newspapers." He praised me as I winced, because a sudden jolt pain shot up my throat, like if it was slit. Though it was gone in a few seconds.
"Thanks Mr. Joey! I am a merchandise designer, so I have to know what our audience wants. Guess I really did solve a couple of problems." I acknowledged as I put down the phone. I walked back into Sammy's room, and found him rubbing his temples in annoyance. Well, thanks to being a popular gamer, of course I have to know what my fans want, and apart from saving Sammy from immense workload, I saved many workers in the studio from that as well.
"You were loud. Can't you just tone it down, knowing I suffer from migraines?" He stated, though his voice recovered. "But finally, you can be serious for once and actually relieve me from pain instead of sprinkling salt on the wound." He complimented me. I can't help but smirk at my victory. Then, I decided to ask about Susie, because I want to see how things are going, you know?
"So...How are things with Susie? Alice Angel's popularity will definitely rival Bendy, in my opinion." I quoted what he said for the last bit. Sammy was silent, but did I see the faintest shade of light pink dust across his face? It's definitely not the fever. Finally, I get to catch him in an awkward situation! The odds are really in my favor here. Sammy coughed, clearing his throat, and gave into my curiosity.
"I guess I can't hide this from you any longer. Ever since I chatted with her last time during the recording session, I felt...I felt there was some sort of magic going on. Then on the following evening, she confessed to me." He admitted. And I had to suppress a smirk. So this thing is canon! All the audio logs, and remarks from that angel...I was right all along. I felt like if I have a purpose here now.
"Oh my god, please, please, please, tell me you said yes!" I pleaded like a toddler. This time Sammy was the one smirking. "If I did not say yes, I won't tell you this story. Think smarter next time. Plus, you kept nagging me about being with her last month." I grinned.
YES. They are together! I don't need to play matchmaker! And I discovered the fact that I have so many similarities with Arlene. We both like to ship people when we find the magic going on, and we both like chains, though I don't like to stain my clothes with ink. But still, she's a more spoiled and ditzy version of me. And...We both have a brother, and they were also so much similar! I rushed to my room and tried to piece the information together. Kalune's voice echoed in my head:
"It's something quite curious. Sometimes, a vessel, such as the human body, could harbor two souls, yet only one will take control in the end. They do battle a bit sometimes."
