Chapter 36
Inaya POV
"Not left; right!" I screamed at Aditi, pointing left instead of right. Actually, I had no idea which was my left and which my right. We were attempting to get to the supermarket to pick up a few items. I technically neglected to pick up a couple things outside of town before I arrived. If I had, it would have given me some time to figure out my next step in approaching Karib.
If I saw her right now, or anyone for that matter, I would have no idea what to do or say. I flee, not informing anyone I was leaving. What could I tell anyone? That element of Karib made me lose something, and I don't believe I wanted to marry her anymore.
My mother alone would have smacked me and pushed my sentiments to the side since 75 million bucks were on the line. I doubt she received the money because I wasn't married to Karib.
"Omg! You sucks at giving directions." Aditi complained as her car drove across the street, nearly colliding with another vehicle. It was a mess. I flashed a sheepish grin.
"I know, it's been years; I'm not sure what I'm doing."
"What do you think? I thought this place never left you're brain. I can still find my childhood home. Even if it was a shithole."
"I understand; it's just that I've never had to offer directions."
"Where should I turn next?"
I stared out the window, hoping to see the names of the street.
I tried to utilize the building as a signpost. But nearly everything changes. I couldn't help but wonder whether her mall had altered. According to my memories, if I took this route, I would drive directly into the park lot.
"Turn here." I nibbled on my lips, the familiar sense of anxiousness settling in my gut like a crowd. "It will take us straight to the best shopping center."
"Are you certain it won't take us to another dead end?" She tweeted, turning on the indicator and slowing down the automobile.
"Sure." Her mall could hardly have closed and left town in just five years. "I guess so."
"Are you certain?" She said, peering out the window and down the street.
It didn't appear to be a dead end, but it also didn't appear to lead directly to the mall.
A car honked behind us, both scaring us. "JUST GO!" "I said." She carefully steered the car along the road, and I stared out the window on my side. There appeared to be a few structures that were either constructed differently or I couldn't recall anything about this area. Did I also chose to leave that part of me behind?
I couldn't help but smile at the mall's entrance. There it was. The parking lot wasn't empty, but it wasn't overcrowded, so parking was convenient and accessible.
"Woah! This seems like the largest mall I've ever seen in my life."
I didn't recall it being so huge; did she add a few yards to it? It was large and vast, stretching for kilometers. The supermarket was in the front and still had its name.
I informed Aditi that Karib was wealthy, but I didn't tell her that she was still pouring money into my account. or even own a damn mall. "Who is the owner of this mall?"
"Uh...we need to rush in and out. There will be a lot of people here before you blink, making it difficult to find our car." I said.
One reason I wanted to quickly sprint in and out was that there was a 10 in 10 chance that I would run into someone I knew. Will they recognize me? Of course, they will. I haven't changed much in terms of looks. I was still the girl with the curled black hair and petite figure.
