SCARLETT
Challenging Xavier should have made fear edge its way forward in my mind but it didn't. I wasn't scared of Xavier. The only thing that scared me was how brave I forced myself to be around him and his goons. Being brave was something I forced myself to have ever since my parents were killed and Zayn disappeared. There was no fear in my soul. It was a curse I had since being a young girl. Fear was something that never seemed to bother me. Nothing could scare me. Or at least nothing has yet.
Xavier's only reaction to me challenging him was him grabbing my arm, dragging back towards the house. He kept a painfully firm grip on my arm as he walked us in between the leaving cars. He continued to drag into the house, pulling me into the room on the opposite end of the house from where I had been originally. He shoved me towards the floor. Looking up towards the king sized bed, two tall brunette women laid on the bed with black lingerie. Both were so skinny, you could see their ribs.
"Out! Now!" He demanded. The two women got up with their clothes so fast that if they were dogs, their tails would be so far between their legs.
Xavier closed the door behind them before walking back over to me. He crouched down, swinging the back of his hand into the side of my face. My neck kinked at the force. I barely had time to recuperate before his hand came down towards my face again. My face stung from the strikes as Xavier grabbed my arm, forcing me to stand. Within seconds of standing, he slammed me into the wall. His breath was hot and shaky as he kept me pinned. He grabbed my chin aggressively, causing tears to well in my eyes as his nails dug into my flesh. His nostrils flared as he stared down at me furiously.
"I have rules. If you don't follow them, you'll be sorry. Do you understand?" He explained as he moved a hand to my neck as the other was placed on my hip. He was fuming with rage but for some reason, he wasn't expressing it verbally.
"What makes you so sure I'll listen?" I didn't blame him for wanting to smack me again.
"You saw what Darren did to Bianca. Is your pride really worth the risk of you or your brother dying too?"
"You think that's supposed to scare me? You think I'm scared of you? I'm not."
"You will be." He backed away.
"You want me to admit I'm scared?! You want my submission?! Here!" I couldn't stop the next few cheesy phrases that left my lips. I just had the damn song in my head. "Please stop! Please stop! You're scaring me!"
Xavier rushed forward, clamping a hand down over my mouth as he pinned me back up against the wall. His other hand was flat up against the wall, trapping me. A look of confusion and uncertainty crossed his face but it was gone in the blink of an eye.
"Goddamn right, you should be scared of me." There was a glint of amusement in his eyes but it was gone as quickly as it came. He backed away once again. "You're one crazy bitch, I'll give you that."
"I learned from the best. Something you'll never know."
He grabbed me by the waist, pinning me against the wall for the dozenth time. I glared at him as his left arm was straight out beside me against the wall. His other arm somehow found its way around my waist. I tried to move away but he only pinned me with his body, leaning close to my ear. He moved his hand from the wall, placing a finger over my lips.
"Shh. Don't scream."* * * *
I didn't know what to do as he leaned in close to me. His hot breath could be felt on my neck. The strange sexual tension seemed almost too staged to be real. I couldn't feel this way. I couldn't do this. This would betray Zayn. It was stupid to feel this way towards a dangerous man but there was something about Xavier that lured women like me in. What it was exactly was impossible to determine since I haven't been around Xavier long enough to figure him out. Zayn had always done his best to make sure I kept my distance from any of Xavier's goons. Now there was nothing stopping Xavier and his men from touching me since Zayn was AWOL now.
Xavier found the button to my pants, undoing them. I tried to wriggle free as his hand slipped into my underwear, but it was useless. He pushed my hair back behind my shoulder, kissing my neck as his fingers drew circles. Shivers spread throughout my entire body from his touch. Deciding not to tolerate whatever sick trick this was, I shoved him back with as much force as I could.
"Fuck you! You're a sick bastard!"
"What's the matter, Scar? Afraid you'll like it?"
"Fuck you! You don't have the right to call me that!"
Xavier smirked as he returned to the same position, keeping me pinned against the wall. He grabbed my hip with one hand while the other had me by the throat, just barely choking me. "I warned you what would happen if you didn't watch your tongue. No one likes a girl with a bad mouth."
"What do you want from me, Xavier? You stole my life. You killed my best friend and kidnapped me because you think Zayn loves me enough to come rescue me."
He chuckled deeply, shaking his head. "You want to know the truth? There's only one reason you're here and it's not to lure your brother here. It seems we both know he won't come."
"Well then why the hell am I really here, Xavier?" I tried not to hide my worry. If what he said was true, then there had to be a legitimate reason as to why I was here.
He continued to keep a hand on my throat. "Shouldn't it be obvious by now? I've been watching you for a while now, Scarlett. I'm going to make you mine."
