SCARLETT

"You know things would be so much easier on you if you just cooperated, Scar. You're doing this to yourself." Nathaniel stated as he watched me struggle to put my clothes back on.
I refused to acknowledge his presence, wanting nothing more than to wipe the smug look right off his face. The second my clothes were on, he grabbed my arm, pulling me into another room. I kept my lips sealed as he sat me down in a chair, chaining me to it. My father was patiently waiting on another chair in front of me, observing Nathaniel as he finished securing the chains to the chair.
"Leave us." My father ordered him, not breaking eye contact with my body.
He wasn't even lookin at my eyes. He was scanning my body in the same way he always did when he wanted in my pants. His eyes thirsty with disgusting hunger for my body. Even Nathaniel never gave me such a look.
Once Nathaniel left the room, my father stood. He was quick, walking over to stand directly in front of me. Keeping my head down, I waited for him to make the first move. He wasted no time in making it as the back of his connected with my cheek. There was no time to recover from the stinging in my cheek before he swung again, connecting with the other side of my face. Spitting blood out from my mouth, I waited for the next blow. My father only snickered as he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at him.
"Oh, how I missed this. I would do this all day but unfortunately I have a business to attend to. Starting with you." He paused, sitting back in his chair. "You will tell me everything you know. I'm sure you're well aware what will happen if you lie so do resist the urge."
"You can hit me all you want. I'll never tell you anything that'll get Zayn killed. Even if it kills me."
"You really would risk your life for such a silly little gang full of wannabe men? Men that have been lying to you from the start?"
        "You know nothing." I seethed.
"I know enough. Now tell me what you know."
I stayed silent, looking away from him. I knew what was coming so I braced for it. Within seconds his hand came flying across my face once again. Hit after hit, I kept my mouth shut, refusing to say anything. By the time he was content with what he had done, blood had covered my lap and some of the floor. I could hardly see as blood dripped down over my eyes. That didn't stop my father from unchaining me, pulling me out of the chair. Everything was spinning as I laid on my back, wishing for my father to just end my life already.
Sudden sharp pain hit the left side of my body, causing me to gasp out as air was driven out from my lungs. Turning to my side only caused another kick to my stomach. Trying to breathe air back into my lungs was impossible for what felt like an eternity. My father was looming over me, snickering as he kicked me again. He waited for me to catch my breath before he grabbed my neck, lifting the top half of my body off of the ground so that my face was within a foot of his. HIs fist was held back as he prepared to strike but he held back, observing my face with a smirk. A flash of realization suddenly crossed his face. He released my shirt, standing. He sat back down in his chair, watching me struggle to sit up. Careful not to put any weight on my hand. I leaned my body the other way, keeping my weight on my good arm.
"So it has come to my attention that you must want answers too. I'm sure you're probably wondering why you came here to find Nathaniel and I instead of Zayn. That much I know. Nina worked for me. Whatever those boys of yours told you, that's one thing they lied to you about. Nina chose money over protecting your brother. She chose money to be undercover for me in that little group."
"Liar! Why should I believe anything you say?!" I snapped.
"You believe people who kidnapped you over your own father?"
"Fuck you. You're not going to manipulate me like you did in the past. I've learned not to trust a damn thing that leaves your mouth."
"Hhm. Still as stubborn as the time before you left. Always hearing what you want to hear and ignoring what people are actually saying."
I opened my mouth to respond but before I could, a loud BANG sounded in the distance. My father was up in seconds as someone burst into the room. It was Nathaniel with a panicked look on his face as more gunfire erupted in the distance.
"We have company!" Nathaniel spoke in a panicked tone as he glanced down at me.
A flash of amusement crossed Nathaniel's face but it was gone in seconds when he turned his attention back to my father. My father made no rush to move as he slowly walked over to Nathaniel, whispering something in his ear. More gunfire erupted in the distance but much louder than before. My father took one last glance in my direction, smirking.
"We'll see each other again." Without another word, he left the room, leaving me with Nathaniel.
Nathaniel pulled a small glock from the back of his pants as the gunfire got louder. Shouting erupted by multiple people. Nathaniel took that as the time to walk over to me, wrapping an arm around my waist as he pulled me to my feet. He kept a firm grip as he put the gun directly against my waist. The gunfire was right outside the room now. But it was impossible to identify who the voices belonged to.
It didn't surprise me that my father would leave when things became risky. He had always been a coward. He was one of those people that would rather have dozens killed for him before he chose to fight for himself. What was worse than that, was knowing that Nathaniel was proudly one of those people. He had always admired my dad when we were together. He hadn't even started his abuse towards me until my father suggested it. It was sickening.
Nathaniel tightened his grip, leaning into my ear. "I guess our time together is about to come to an end. If I go out, you go out. Are we clear?"
"You'll get what you deserve." I spat, wincing as he pushed the gun into my side more aggressively.
        "We'll see about that."
Everything seemed to move more slowly as the gunfire became deafening. My ears were ringing and my vision was still hazy. It made it extremely hard to focus. Even after the gunfire stopped, the waiting game of finding out who was behind the door, seemed to drag on. Even with the lack of clocks in this very room, I could hear the familiar ticking sound as if my own mind was a clock.
The second the door burst open, it seemed almost too good to be true. I could hardly believe my eyes as I observed the person before me, pointing another pistol at Nathaniel and I.
        "Zayn?"
A loud BANG filled the air. A second one following after. The next thing I knew, I was falling to the floor. There was no pain and no sound except for the ringing in my ears. Turning my head, Nathaniel was next to me with a bullet hole in the center of his forehead. His eyes were lifeless and no longer held the darkness they once were.
A dark figure loomed over me as everything slowly started to fade away. I couldn't make out the words the dark mysterious voice spoke as he pressed their hands into my side. It was only then that I realized Nathaniel had actually pulled the trigger. All I could think was that this was the end. That all of this was for nothing as darkness finally took its hold. Everything was black as I slipped into the peaceful embrace of death.
