Scarlett's POV

"Please don't tell mom that I used that word around you..."

"Should be careful of what you say around your baby sister then, you asshole!" I heard a familiar voice along with his footsteps as he approached us.

My heart raced feeling his presence just behind me but yet for some odd, unknown reason I couldn't dare to turn around and look at him. It's funny how not even a minute ago I was asking his whereabouts and now when he's right behind me, I won't even look at him.

"David! Man! Watch your language! My mother will kill not just me but you too" Ryan said shaking his head while keeping his phone aside. Finally!

"Oh. She won't, she loves me as her own son" David replied.

"What's up with her?" David asked a moment later while still standing behind me, most probably asking about me I guess.

"What?" Ryan mumbled confused before looking at me.

"Is something bothering you?" Ryan asked with a serious look on his face as I just gave him a nervous smile while shaking my head in denial and thank heavens that on the exact same moment Charlotte walked down the stairs and interrupted our conversation, which thankfully diverted both Ryan and David's attention from me to her.

"Hey! I didn't know you were back in town too" Charlotte said while approaching us and giving David a side hug.

"Hey! Little sister" David mumbled while hugging her back before walking around the couch that I was sitting on and taking a seat on the one across us along with Charlotte and that was the moment I saw him and my breath hitched in my throat for some reason.

Goddammit! Why do I always get these strange feelings in my stomach whenever I see him? What are these weird feelings that only he manages to ignite in me?

Is this what people call a crush?

I glanced at him as he was laughing over something that Charlotte said and I couldn't help but smile like an idiot, watching him laugh wholeheartedly.

He has to be the most gorgeous specimen of men that I have ever came across...with those storm like dark gray eyes, wavy dark brown hair, and although I have never seen him shirtless, but I can tell by looking at him that he has a well toned body underneath those clothes, and also not to forget the light stubble on his face acting as the cherry on the cake, I'm sure he must have women swooning all over him.

And with that thought I suddenly recalled my brother's words from earlier...

"...he must be whoring around somewhere"

A few creases of frown lines appeared on my forehead as my brother's words rang in my ear.

Is he really a player? A heartbreaker?

If so, then how come he's always so sweet with me? I couldn't help but wonder.

Because you are Ryan's baby sister, which by default makes him think and act as if you are his baby sister too, my subconscious replied, answering the questions in my head.

But...I may not know what this is that I feel whenever I see him, but it certainly isn't some brotherly-sisterly feelings.

"Now will you tell me Charlotte, what's up with your twin? She won't even say hi to me" I snapped out of my thoughts hearing David's voice.

I glanced at them, not quite catching up on their conversation.

"Maybe whatever happened back at school today is still bothering her" Charlotte replied making my eyes widen in shock.
