Scarlett's POV

"We are sorry, Scar. We didn't mean to hurt you" Vienna said with her usual warm smile on her face as soon as I walked back in.

"Yeah, Scar. We are sorry" Landon said with an apologetic smile.

"No, it was my fault. I just overreacted" I replied before sitting back on my vacant place beside Charlotte.

And as I sat back on my place, my eyes fell on David, who sighed looking at me with an almost blank face before taking a seat beside Samantha, and it was just then that I realized that he was quick to follow me inside.

Our eyes met for a moment there, but I was quick to break the eye contact and avert my eyes off him, while Charlotte leaned in to whisper.

"Are you okay?"

To which I just nodded my head as I was in no mood to talk right now, with anybody.

"What did you two talk about? Did he say something to upset you?" She asked, concerned.

"No, he didn't" I gave out a short reply.

And well...the rest of the night was dull and when I say dull I actually mean DULL! But anyways, the girls did manage to drag me to the dance floor even when I said that I wasn't really in the mood, but alas, they didn't care what I said, so I just went with the flow and joined them on the dance floor.

After being told multiple times by my girl gang to loosen up a bit and move past whatever happened, I finally listened to them and swayed my hips in sync with the loud, blasting music, that was really starting to get at my head, while all this time, feeling an intense gaze on me.

I shook my head at Samantha and Vienna, who seemed completely wasted...but at least they were happy...and why shouldn't they be anyways? Of course, they are happy...they have the best life partners in the world after all and even though I couldn't help but feel a bit envious of them, but yet more than that, I was beyond happy for my sister and the other one who is soon going to be my sister, a part of our family...a Knight.

After a while as we were dancing, I felt someone's presence right behind me and a second later felt a tap on my shoulder, but before I could freak out thinking it was some creep again and this time I didn't even have David around who would show up and scare him away, I would have to deal with it on my own now as I had no idea where David or even my brother was, my ears caught on and recognized the familiar voice that said.

"Scar..."

I exhaled a sharp breath. Not wanting to deal with him right now, I chose to ignore him and continued dancing but stopped dead in my actions when my ass brushed up against his crotch and that's when I realized that he was indeed standing very close behind me, maybe because of the crowd or something.

And as if that wasn't enough, a girl suddenly bumped straight into me, making me lose my balance and fall right back at...him, who held me in the right time as always.

"Oh. I'm-I'm so sorry" The girl, who ran into me, somehow managed to mumble before walking away, without even bothering to wait for my reaction, but it's not as if I was gonna give her any response anyways, because I was too engrossed somewhere else to pay any attention to her.

"Scarlett..."

Oh. God! Is it just me or has his voice really gone much more deeper than it already was? Is that even possible? I mean it didn't sound this way when he called out for me like a minute ago...then what has changed now? In the span of a minute?

I slowly looked up at him, with my back pressed against his front as I was still leaning against him while his arms were on mine, holding me in place, only to find him already staring down at me.
