58.
Jungkook wasn't usually curious. Well, he was curious to some extent but not so curious. Still, today he couldn't ignore it. The more time passed, he only seemed to wonder more about it. Because he tried what Jimin did and it didn't make sense to him. So after rolling in his bed for a while with no sleep, he decided he would just ask his boss directly.
That night Jungkook stopped by Jimin's office. It was locked, which meant only one thing. He unlocked the door using his fingerprints and slipped inside.
As expected, Jimin was standing by the open window that looked over the garden in the South. Tiny Thing's bedroom was in the east. Hence, there was no way she could see him.
Jungkook pouted. Why did his boss move his room to the east side of the mansion? He understood why, but that didn't mean he cannot miss his occasional puffs.
"What do you want now?"
Jungkook shifted from one foot to the other before approaching him. "Just...there's something I've been wondering for ages."
Jimin glanced over his shoulder, blowing out the smoke through his nose and mouth. "What is it?"
Jungkook eyed the cigarette longingly. Just one puff would be heavenly. "Um...just what do you talk to madam every time you go to see her?" He went to perch his hip on the windowsill.
A pre-fuck buddies era Jungkook would have been shot dead for that action, but these days he might be pushing his luck a bit too much.
Jimin frowned, cocking his head to watch him. "Why?"
Jungkook shrugged. "I tried talking to my mom today. It felt so weird and I ran out of things to say. Like...they don't talk back. So what's the point of talking?"
The corners of Jimin's mouth twitched.
"I mean...just what do you talk so seriously?" he asked with a serious expression. To be honest, it has been eating Jungkook up for months now. No matter how much he tried to think about it, he just couldn't figure it out.
Jimin started laughing. He threw his head back and laughed so loud.
Jungkook pursed his lips, not even knowing what was wrong. Did his boss finally lose it? Well, he has been talking to graves for years. Could that be a sign?
The more Jimin saw Jungkook's face the more he laughed. Jungkook's shoulders slumped. There was no point in asking. He just waited.
Once calm, Jimin put the cigarette bud he was smoking against Jungkook's lips. The bodyguard's eyes widened and he took a quick puff.
"Finish it," his boss commanded and Jungkook was only happy to obey.
Oh, the feeling of smoking after so long. Well, it has only been days but if you know, you know.
His boss glanced outside the window again, pushing his hands into his pant pockets. "You see the rose patches there?"
Jungkook followed his line of sight, finding the rose patches easily. It wasn't that hard. He has been taking a stroll often in the garden and knew almost every plant variety planted there. He didn't know the name of many except for the colors of the flowers it gave, but no one had to know it.
"My wife planted every single plant in this garden. Those rose bushes were the last ones before she passed away." His boss sounded sad. "She didn't even see them bloom for once."
Jungkook removed the cigarette from his mouth, blowing the smoke to the side. It didn't feel right to smoke when his boss spoke so seriously. He slowly stood, watching the rose patch along with him.
