Aaron's POV

My name is Aaron Williams. I am the star runningback on Bryant High School's football team. My junior season was the first year I started instead of the senior Frank, and the feud between me and that dick Cameron Patterson got even more severe. He thinks that just because he's been starting for more than I have, he can just push me around. I've spent my whole time here just trying to ignore him and shit, but it's really tough when we stand right next to each other for most of the time during games. He's always talking and it's annoying as hell. I have a hard time not hating him because of how fucking annoying he can me.

Tonight was our first game, which we almost lost. I fumbled the ball twice, and it was by far my worst game ever. Our coach just told me and Cameron to resolve our differences, but neither of us has that intention. I would like to talk it out, but my pride is too much. The image I have to hold up is way more important than a relationship with one idiot. The rest of the team and the coaches left the locker room leaving me and Cameron alone, no one to stop a fight that might happen between the two of us. Cameron was probably praying for me to play terribly the way I did, just waiting for an opportunity to criticize me the way I criticized him so much after last year's playoff game where he threw 5 interceptions.

I had more of a right to criticize him then, not only did we lose the game, but he threw a whopping 5 interceptions as well as 2 fumbles in a playoff game, a time where you need to be playing your best. He played extremely shamefully, I'm pretty sure he knew that, and while I shouldn't have escalated the situation into a full on brawl on the bench, I had every right to be upset at him.

Tonight was very different. I definitely played extremely poorly, fumbling the ball twice, but I did not turn the ball over 7 times in one game. This was also only a regular season game, not a playoff game that everyone was relying on me for. The stakes were lower and I also just straight up did less bad than he did.

"So, you gonna apologize for how ass you are at football?" Cameron asks, not looking in my direction. This trifling hoe is going to die tonight unless someone comes and saves his ass.

I glare at him and say, "You know damn well we wouldn't be contending for the state championship without me, I am one of your most important teammates."

"We would've won by 40 if DeShaun started, you know damn well that's right."

"We would've won by 40 if anyone else started at quarterback."

"You're total ass at football, you know that? Two fumbles is actually criminal for the 'star' runningback that you're supposed to be," he tells me. I lowkey agree with that, but whatever. I'm only into escalating this situation even more. That's all that matters to me at the moment.

"You're a dumbass, I hope you know that. I'll go out next game and absolutely ball out. You won't even see it coming because you're blind. That's why you're horrible at passing."

"You know damn well I'm the best player on the team," he states. It might be true, but we have plenty of other great players.

"Devin is by far our best player."

"He's great, and we need him, but I'm better than him."

"No you're not," I state. "Devin doesn't eat total shit in the playoffs."

"The defense gave up 28 points in the playoffs, that's a lot."

"You were literally the one reason that they scored 28 points in that game. Remember? 3 pick sixes in one game? And a fumble return? That was all you and that equals 28 points."
