The Stolen Heart

[ 9 ]

   Cadence's pov:

  Today I arrived pretty late because I had something to do before going to the police department. When I arrived I found everybody there and saw Erika talking to Anna. I approached them and saw Anna sad.

  "What happened?" I asked worried as two sad faces looked at me. 

  "I was informed that the old lady, Margaret, was found dead." Erika said.

  "Wait..W-what..?" I asked feeling the sadness entering my body. I started crying and Erika approached me and gave me a hug. It was a long one and she managed to make me cry in her arms. 

  "I'm sorry Cadence..." she said as I buried my face in her shoulder.

  After some time I managed to calm down and Erika told Anna to come with her to investigate the death scene. I insisted on coming with them and Erika didn't approve at first because she didn't want me to feel worse but I made her change her mind.

  We arrived there and I prepared myself for what I am going to see. We entered the house and I saw Margaret on the floor. I felt my eyes tearing up again but I gathered myself and I continued the investigation. I felt Erika's eyes on me from time to time to see if I'm okay.

  The investigation was fine until I found something very important. I found something.
 
  "Uh, girls? Can you come for a sec because I think I found something."

  They came and I showed them that I found a glove. It wasn't Margaret's glove, it was something more deep in here. I think Margaret died because of someone. On that glove was a weird mark but I couldn't recognize it. 

  The girls approved with me that this was a killer behind this. Who and why did he do that?

  We returned with all of the clues and continued working on this case.

  The hours have passed and we didn't found nothing. 

   It was time to go home so we left.

  
   Erica's pov:

  Today was a hard day and so will the others.. I tried to comfort Anna and Cadence as much as I could and I tried to focus on the case too. But we were left with only one conclusion: Margaret was killed by someone. I don't know what to do but I think we all have to rest a bit tonight because it will be a tough time.

  
  The next day:

  I couldn't sleep last night because my mind was still focusing on the case. I thought a lot and I might have a suspect but I need to talk to the girls first. 

  I arrived at the police station very early because I needed to look through the evidences again.

  After 2 hours I was too focused in my work when suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder that it made me startled. I turned around and saw Soft Paws.

  "Wtf are you doing here??" I said and was ready to fight with her.

  "Shh don't worry, I don't want to hurt you" she said putting her finger on my lips to make me shut up." I wanted to say something but she suddenly kissed me. I didn't know what to do so I just reacted back to the kiss. Suddenly I woke up:

  "Ella what are you doing this early?" Melissa asked me then I realised that was just a dream.

  "U-uh..." I cleared my throat and said "I couldn't sleep last night because this case confuses me and I thought that I could come early at work to see what can I do to solve this case."

  "And you wanted to solve the case...in your dreams?" Melissa laughed at me and I started too. 

  "It's just that I think I have suspect but I'm gonna tell you all in a meeting." I said and Melissa just nodded.

  After one hour everyone arrived and I was waiting for them in the meeting room. After we gathered up I said:

  "So, today I want to tell you that I might know who is behind the Margaret's death." I said and everybody looked at me.

  "I think it was Merlow Sully's hand."

  "Oh fuck no." Nadia said.

  "Wait, who's Merlow?" Cadence asked.

  "The most powerful Mafia leader of all times.." Melissa said.

  "Guys, maybe it's not him...Maybe it's Soft Paw again?" Nadia said.

  "It can't be her." I said and everybody looked at me confused.

  "Why are you defending her?" Anna asked.

  "She almost killed you bruh and your still defending her!" Nadia shouted at me and gave me a side eye and I just stayed silent.

  "Yeah, it really might be Soft Paws because we haven't heard about Merlow in a while." Melissa said and I just sighed. 

  "Okay everybody, you are free to go." I said and everybody left except Cadence. 

  "I want you to know that I'm on your side and I really trust you in what you do." She said and I smiled at her in appreciation.

This was chapter 9! In this part we find out a new character: Merlow Sully that is a Mafia boss.
