Melissa's pov:

Yesterday Erica suddenly left the party and that made me question myself: "What's wrong with her?" I was worried about her so today when she arrived to the office, late as usual, I went to talk to her.

"Hey Erica, are you free at lunch?" I asked smiling.

"Hi Mel, I think so, why?"

"Let's go to the cafe in the break." I said and she nodded.

The time passed and I was with Erica at the cafe, near the police station. We ordered two coffees and after that I asked her:

"Erica, what happened yesterday?"

"Nothing, I didn't felt well that's it. I'm okay now so you don't have any reasons to worry about." She said and I could feel that she is lying to me.

"You know that I'm here for you no matter what, right?" I assured her and then she sighed.

"I know...It's just that I think I like Cadence and I don't fucking want to go through that shit time again." She said and I was happy to see that finally she opened herself to me but then I got sad because she was referring to her ex girlfriend that unfortunately died in a mission.

"Oh Erica...Come here" I said opening my arms to hug her because tears were starting to show from her eyes. We hugged and I was starting to feel bad for her because I know how devastated she was after her ex girlfriend died and I don't want to see her like that ever again.

Erica's pov:

Today my best friend Melissa took me to the cafe to talk. She felt something strange about me yesterday so I couldn't lie forever. I told her the truth and she comforted me through a hug. I fucking have the best friend ever. I'm very grateful to have her and Nadia, they are the best.

We returned to the police station and today I had some work to give to the new girls, Cade and Anna.

I approached their desks and told them:

"Hi girls, I have a mission for you today." I said and they both raised their heads to pay attention to me.

"So, there is a lady that says that someone always breaks in her house at night. I want you girls to go to her house and investigate the area."

"Sure captain!" The two girls said.

Cadence's pov:

Our captain gave us a task to do. We had to go to a location and to investigate the area. We started driving to the lady's house. We arrived and then knocked at the door.

"Oh thank god. I'm so glad that you girls are here!" The lady opened the door and said.

"Hello ma'am. We are the police you called earlier, with what can we help you?" I asked.

"Well...At night, I hear big noises and they scare me to death. I think someone is breaking into my house everynight. Can you, sweet girls, help an old woman like me and look around to see if it's really someone there?"

"Sure! That's why we're here, to assure you that there's no danger." Anna said. And then she let us in her house because it was still day outside.

She told us to sit and wait until she come back. We sat on the couch and waited for the lady, she returned and made us some tea.

"Can I read you my husband's diary about our love story?"

"Of course!" We said excited.

"Dear diary, today it was a big day. I finally met the love of my life. It all started a few weeks before when I first saw her at the cafe. I was very interested in her but unfortunately she left the cafe too soon and I couldn't talk to her. But today it was amazing! I was invited to a beach party and she was too! I saw her there and I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was gorgeous. We all drank and after that they said to play spin the bottle.

Rules of the game:
-You have to kiss the person the bottle is pointing at.
-If you don't want to kiss that person, you both have to drink a shot.

We sat around the fireplace that we made and after some rounds of kissing, it was Margaret's turn, the girl I like. She spinned the bottle and it landed on me at me and I and Margaret had to kiss. I wanted to drink a shot because I was very shy but then I see that she doesn't want the shot. She approached me and grabbed me by my shirt collar and kissed me. I was so surprised and I was feeling like in heaven. She has very soft lips and then I couldn't stop and I deepened the kiss but the others teased us making us stop. We took a break from the game and I went to take a blanket and then I returned to give it to Margaret. Now we are together and I can't wait to see our future together because I really feel that she is the one."

"Damn miss! You're making me jealous!" I said.

"Yes! Such a great love story!" Anna said.

"I'm glad that you like it." Margaret said with a big smile.

"And where is this gentleman now?" Anna asked.

"Well...He passed away 4 years ago."

"Oh, I'm so sorry!! I shouldn't have asked."

"No sweetie. It's okay don't worry" The old woman said and we hugged her.

Time have past and it was already night so we went outside to investigate the area.

For some hours we didn't heard or see anything strange. But I heard noises from the back of the house and we hurried to see who's making those sounds.

We arrived and saw just some raccoons that were searching for food in her dumpster.

We entered the house and told Margaret about the one's that are making those sounds.

Being happy to hear that it's not a big deal she thanked us, we hugged and then we left to go home.
