Falling for my guiding star

Chapter 15

Tears were overflowing from her eyes and the guilt killing her.

She cluntched her chest to the rising pain.

"Anu..." Ridhaan moaned into the kiss 

Relization hit her as soon as she heard her name on his lips.

Like a blast of cold water, she pushed  Ridhaan away on impulse, shocked at her behavior.

" STAY AWAY..."

Ridhaan staggered at the unexpected push . For a minute , he looked perplexed, then the reality crashed onto him.

He chastised himself for loosing his control.

" Anu....I...."

But before he could get a word in, Anu's next words sliced him in half, leaving him bleeding.

" Don't you dare try taking advantage of me"

The vicious words were still reverberating within her from the moment it left her lips, leaving her both in anguish and regrets.

Ridhaan till now has not returned.

After the incident, he dropped her off and without a word, took off.

His phone is also coming as unreachable.

" How could I spoke to my Ridhu like that? He always stood by me but I...."

" Then why did you say it"

Anu jerked around, startled.

She looked on as Priya made her  way towards her. Under her piercing eye, Anu was not even able to make eye contact.

Have Ridhaan told Ma everything?

"You know him better, Anu?"

This rebuke from Priya made Anu lower her eyes in shame for doubting on Ridhaan.

Yes she knew him. Whatever may have happened....however he is hurt by her.... He will never speak about them to anyone one else....not even to his mother.

"I am his mother, Anu. Just like you are tuned to Raunak's every emotions so am I. When you both left this evening,  I could see the twinkle in his eyes but the one who returned had a lost look in his. So it was not rocket science to guess. You are the only one, ever that could bring out this extreme reactions from him. Now tell me what happened between both of you" Priya asked gently.

Anu was not expecting this soft behaviour from Priya. Already she was in an emotional upheaval and now, Priya's concern was her downfall.

Without further thought , she lunged herself into Priya's arms.

" Ma.... I h..urt him...hu..rt....him.....ba..badly....I did..didn't me..mean to.....it ju.. just happ...ened...He ...didn't....de..des.......deserve...it...I should...shouldn't..have said...it....Why....Ma....why .."

Though it was difficult for Priya to understand what Anu was saying in between all the sobbing and self incrimination still Priya tried to give her the comfort she craved.

Once she was sure that Anu was in control of her emotions, she asked.

"What exactly happened , Anu? Don't leave anything behind" Priya warned even while keeping in mind to keep her voice gentle.

Anu stared at her with welled up eyes and then started narrating the happenings at the reunion. 

By the end, Anu had completely broken down in Priya's arms while Priya herself were in two minds.
