George's POV

"How could you let this happen?" Kyle yelled pushing me against the wall when he arrived. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to" I cried. "You said you wouldn't hurt her" he shouted. "I didn't, it wasn't my fault, she fell and I just...... It all happened so fast I don't know what happened" I said tears streaming down my face. "Kyle, let him go, let the boy explain" Chrissy's mum, Janice said. "So you're.....?" She asked me. "George, George Shelley" I smiled. "And how do you know my daughter?" She asked. "Well you see, I'm also a contestant in the xfactor this year, and I got to know her when she came to auditions and stuff" I replied. "And they're going out" Kyle added. "You are?" Janice asked confused. "Yeah, for a few weeks now, but I thought I'd let Chrissy tell you herself" I replied. "And how come she didn't tell me?" She wondered. "I'm not quite sure, but we weren't officially together until today, I was bringing her for a picnic as a kind of date and this happened" I explained. "And how did it happen?" "Well we were just walking and I was holding her hand and suddenly she just fell to the ground, it all happened so fast that I don't know why it happened, she did say she had a headache, but she reassured me it was just from being out last night" "hmm" she nodded. "Well at least you were sensible enough to bring her here" she smiled after a second or two, and you seem nice and mannerly, so I think I approve of you, but have you been told anything by the doctors yet?" She smiled. "No, they are doing tests at the moment and said the seriousness of the injury is due to how hard she hit the ground" I explained and she nodded. Just then the three boys and Jess joined us. "Jess" Janice exclaimed and hugged her gently. "These are George's band members, and friends" Jess said and they introduced themselves. "We've been friends with your daughter since the first auditions and hope she's ok" Jaymi said. "I hope so too, we haven't been told anything yet" she explained. Janice seemed to like the boys, quite a lot actually and chatted with them about the competition to try and get her mind off things as she waited. I sat in silence. I still felt tension between me and Kyle, like he blamed me for this, and now I was beginning to blame myself. Maybe if I listened to her when she said she had a headache and taken care of her even though she said she was ok, this wouldn't have happened. I should have insisted in going on the date another day and just relaxing today, but no instead silly me had to go and let this happen. I didn't quite feel Janice was too fond of me either. She didn't seem to blame me for it, but she didn't tell me it wasn't my fault after Kyle accused me, which made me feel she partly held me responsible for the accident. I sat fidgeting with my fingers nervously for information. I was hoping everything would be ok, because if it wasn't Kyle would kill me, and I'm not exaggerating that. Not only would he kill me, but I think I'd nearly kill myself. Not literally, but I wouldn't ever be able to forgive myself for it if something happened. I shouldn't have listened to her and made her stay in bed, I told myself over and over again. Just as I was deep in thought a nurse appeared from the room. We all shot up asking questions. "One at a time please" the nurse requested. "How bad is she?" Janice asked and we all looked expectantly at the young nurse. "Well we haven't got all the test results back yet, but the ones we have received are negative for any damage, which is good. Chrissy just woke up now, and before you move, she asked to see George first, on his own" she smiled and they all looked at me. I froze for a second before slowly heading towards the room door. I could feel everybody's eyes on me as I walked alone. I went inside and smiled at Chrissy. "How did it happen?" She asked, seeming confused. "I remember we were in the car and I got a really bad pain in my head but didn't say anything, because I didn't want to ruin the date. I don't remember much after that" she said. I stood next to her bed looking into her eyes, and at the cut on her head from the fall. It was only a graze, but I hadn't noticed it earlier. "If I'm honest, most of its a blur for me too. We were walking and I was guiding you, then I felt your grip loosen and before I knew it you were lying on the ground" I explained. "Well I'm ok, that's all that matters" she smiled warmly. "Who else is here?" She asked. "Your mum, Kyle, the boys and Jess" "Becca?" "No I think I heard your mum say she was gone shopping with Ella, another xfactor contestant" I answered. "So how did mum react when she heard about us?" She asked, worry in her eyes. "She didn't really say anything, but I get the feeling she doesn't like me and I think her and Kyle blame me for this" I said looking down at the ground. She sat in silence doing the same for a minute. "George?" She asked quietly making me look up. "None of this is your fault, and I'm sure she doesn't hate you, in fact I know she doesn't because it's impossible to hate such a perfect person, she probably just needs to get to know you a bit better" she smiled. I didn't move, I just thought over what Chrissy had said and stared into her eyes. "But what if she does hate me, I'm not perfect and I accept that, and what if she gets to know me and hates me more, what happens to us then?" "George, they're all 'what ifs,' I promise you she'll love you and anyway if she doesn't, it leaves us stronger than ever. Her, nor Kyle or my dad have a say in who I go out with, and if it means they never talk to me again, then so be it, once I have you I'll be happy" she took my hand. "No, there is no way you're going to choose me over your family, under no circumstances Christina, if they don't like me, then we'll have to break up or something, or see eachother secretly, we'll always stay friends, but if it doesn't work out with your family, you'll just have to listen to them" I said coldly. Just as I finished a nurse came in, followed by Janice, Kyle and Jess. I quickly let go of Chrissy's hand, but she hastily gripped mine again, as if proving a point to her family. I felt Kyle look at me with hatred but ignored him and focused on what the nurse was saying. "Well from the test results, it seems this faint occurred from over tiredness" the nurse began. "Chrissy informed me that she was working a lot recently, and when she went out last night, it probably just all got too much for her causing her to blackout" she explained. "So can I leave?" Chrissy asked hopefully. "Yes, you are free to leave, but you must rest for the next couple of days, and not do too much physical work" the nurse warned before leaving. That's when we became the topic of conversation. Janice began asking Chrissy why she hadn't told her and asking questions about me. I answered them politely, but she still didn't seem convinced I was right for her daughter. "Janice, look I've known George for a while now too, although I only met him in person yesterday I had talked to him on Skype with Chrissy a few times, and I know this might not mean much, but George and his three band mates are the sweetest, most genuine and down to earth boys I've ever spoken to. You may not see it yet, but Chrissy and George really like eachother and I know from personal experiences, that if you stop them from seeing eachother, Chrissy won't forgive you, whether it does become serious or not wont matter, because if you stop it now, Chrissy will never forgive you because she won't have had the chance to see if it works out. I don't mean to be rude or anything but I think you should at least give them a chance" Jess said. I smiled at her when she finished her speech before casting my attention onto Janice once again. "Thanks Jess, but I didn't doubt he is a sweet and genuine boy, in fact I had no notion in splitting them up. I could tell from the second I spoke to him he was a nice boy, and I guess when he brought Chrissy here today he showed and act of caring. You have my full blessing that this works out dear" she smiled. "Hang on, but you don't even know the guy" Kyle butted in. "Kyle, sometimes you don't need to know someone to get an idea of what they're like, if your sisters happy, then you should be too, and I don't see a problem with him" Janice smiled again. Kyle looked at me and then to Chrissy before nodding as in agreement I guess. "Ok we better head, are you alright to bring her back to the hotel?" Janice asked and I nodded before her and Kyle left. Then leaned down and kissed Chrissy passionately. "Ok, I think that's enough of that, you ready to go?" Jess asked and we got up meeting the boys outside and going back to the hotel.
