Percy's P.O.V.
i had curled up into my moms side about to fall asleep again when another memory came up and I knew exactly what it was about so I closed my eyes trying not to vomit. I knew that the original six gods had a problem with people vomiting around them because of their father.
It was a warm summer day when Percy Jackson was just six years old. He roamed through the bustling streets of New York City, his curiosity getting the better of him. Little did he know, that day would change his life forever.
As Percy continued to explore the city, he stumbled upon an abandoned warehouse. Curiosity got the better of him again, and he ventured into the dimly lit interior. Suddenly, he heard a deafening noise coming from deeper within the building.
As Percy cautiously approached the source of the noise, he stumbled upon a scene that would forever haunt him. His step-father, Gabe Ugliano, stood over a young boy, beating him mercilessly. The sound of his blows echoed through the warehouse, leaving Percy trembling with fear.
Unable to bear the sight any longer, Percy intervened, trying to protect the boy from his cruel stepfather. Gabe, enraged, turned his wrath on Percy. In that moment, Percy felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, and he knew he had been struck.
Staggering back, Percy watched as Gabe continued his assault on the boy. Fear surged through his veins as he realized that his own life was in danger. In an act of desperation, he called out for help, his voice trembling with fear.
Suddenly, a dark figure appeared before him. It was the god of death, Thanatos. In a hauntingly gentle voice, Thanatos told Percy that he was there for a reason. He explained that Percy had encountered a mortal with darkness in their hearts, and it had been his destiny to put an end to their suffering.
Percy, still in shock, watched as Thanatos intervened and confronted Gabe. The god of death's presence seemed to instill fear in Gabe, and he backed away, realizing the weight of his actions.
Thanatos then approached Percy, placing his hand on the young boy's wound. In an instant, the pain subsided, and Percy felt a sense of relief wash over him. Thanatos told him that his actions had earned him a favor, and he would always be there to protect him.
From that day forward, Percy had a connection with Thanatos that transcended the normal bonds of friendship. The god of death became a guiding force in his life, offering him wisdom and protection.
Over time, Percy grew stronger, both physically and mentally. He channeled his anger and hatred towards Gabe into determination, vowing to make life better for himself and his loved ones.
And so, Percy's encounter with the god of death served as a turning point in his journey. It taught him the importance of standing up for what is right and embracing the darkness within in order to overcome evil.
As Percy looks back on that fateful day, he knows that despite his scars, he has emerged from the darkness stronger than ever. It is a memory that serves as a reminder of the strength he found inside himself, and of the enduring bond he shared with Thanatos.
After the memory stopped I heard my dad growl in anger and felt my mom tighten his grip around me. I silently cried into the Lord of the Underworld's shirt. I felt like a failure. I didn't want to disappoint my parents but I couldn't help but feel ashamed. My parents had high expectations for me, and I felt like I had let the family down by not being able to remember. This made me feel guilty and ashamed, as if I was letting them down. I soon felt my mom's hand running through my hair trying to calm me down a bit. He reminded me that I was loved and that I was not alone in this. I felt better after I accepted his reassurance.
