The next few days were uneventful. Tomorrow was the weekend though so that was a good thing. This weekend, Dan and I were going out to celebrate that Jeremy was finally leaving me alone. And Jeremy invited Dan and I to go to brunch with him on Sunday. We are going to the waffle joint that Dan and I went to the morning after the concert. We were going to meet him at 11 am. Now that Jeremy was out, and no longer tormented me, Dan and I freely held hands while walking down the hallway. The whole school now supported what we were doing. At lease we thought.

Today's lunch was spaghetti. Which is incredibly messy, as you most likely know. During lunch, a jock walked by and slammed my tray up against my torso.
"Fag!"
"Hey! You! Don't you dare treat my boyfriend like that!"
Damn, Dan was overprotective... I like it.

The rest of the day zoomed by. We went home and baked brownies together. We put a flag in each of the brownies that said "dad, we are dating" on them. Today was the day we were going to tell him that we are together.

My dad opens the door and Dan and I rush upstairs. We both know his routine. Get home (on the days he works) and go to the kitchen. So we left the brownies out because we knew he would go straight for them.
"Phil?"
It was happening.
"Dan? Could you too come down here?"
"Hey dad."
"Do you guys want to order takeout?"
"Umm... Sure."
Maybe it wasn't happening.
"Oh. And I'm proud of you guys."
Or it was. Whatever I was confused.
