Shadow and Rouge head to the rendezvous point, which was the old ruin castle of the Soleanna as they traverse through the area, defeating eggmans troops.

Rouge had her bombs and martial arts  on hand while shadow help back her up with he's speed and chaos powers, making them an exceptional duo as they worked together for a long while .

While they were exploring and going to the rendezvous point, they had a bit of small talk.

Rouge: So shadow, how's your relationship with that speedy hedgehog?

Shadow look back at rogue while he was using he's chaos power to make him fly with Rouge as he learn how to use it * similar to sliver but he like slowly flying not as fast as Sliver sinch he has more experience with flying then shadow *

Shadow : we are fine. I am still getting used to the idea that we are in a relationship.

Rouge: Did you at least take him out on a date yet?

Shadow shakes he's head which made Rouge scoff in annoyance

Rouge: For such a stoic guy, I thought you had some romantic potential.

Shadow : It's not my fault. I barely know how to be in a relationship.

Rouge: Well, maybe I can help as I have some experience

Shadow : You have experience? * say with a confused look *

Rogue flies around an old ruin wall and then , back to shadow .

Rogue : Of course, what makes you think I didn't if I secretly got you both together

Shadow : Wait, what ?

Rogue giggled as she kept her lips shut as they made their way to the meeting spot, which was a wide open area.

Rouge: This should have been the meeting spot, but I don't see any other g.u.n soldiers

Shadow: Maybe they're late

Rogue: If that's the case their are sloppy new soldiers, that's for sure

Amd. Before they talked more, Eggman robots rain down in a huge circle

Shadow and Rouge were on guard as they saw Eggman in he's flying mobile grinning at him.

Eggman : Hello shadow and Rouge. I believe you have something of mine , the scepter give it back to me

Rouge: sorry Eggman but we have a job to do, and we can't stop for an evil scientist like you

Shadow nodded as he hands were powered with chaos energy, then Eggman, with a flick of his finger commands, was Eggman robots to attack the duo.

Rouge was flying and using her heart bombs and dive kicks to drive some back while shadow use he's speed and chaos powers to destroy mutiple in secs but even with their strength wnd teamwork Eggman robots were numerous as they fought against hundreds of them.

One got Rouge off gaurd and the scepter was dropped out of her Hand as both shadow and Eggman see the scepter broken as then a surge of shadows happen making it into a pillar which made the robots malfunction as Eggman knew it was too late.

Eggman : FALLBACK ,RETREAT!, he said while the remaining working egg solders and him leave, allowing whatever entity move around Rouge and shadow

As the entity goes into the shadow of shadow as Rouge points it out as shadow sees behide him he's shadow stretch as smt comes out as then smt appears as then a grayish version of shadow with blue stripes instead of red appears with unsettling green eyes .

Shadow thinks : damn it, it's mephiles. I thought I was more careful than this, but I guess smts I can't control it, but I need to make it look like I don't know him

Shadow : Who are you?

Mephiles walks up creepy like he looks directly at shadow

Mephiles: I am a shadow of this world, a being you call mephiles, and I been expecting this shadow the hedgehog

Shadow acts like he didn't know

Shadow : How did you?

Mephiles: I know many things abt you and your so called friends and I expected this outcome of my freedom many of times so thank you for relasing me* he bow buy even tho he doesn't have a mouth shadow can sense a uncanny smile from it as then mephiles walks backwards *

Mephiles : For now, I must leave shadow the hedgehog, but we will meet again. * he chuckles a bit, leaving Rouge and shadow with a bit of fear as he leaves through the sh *

Rouge : What a creepy, handsome dude

Shadow: Wait, what

Rouge : I mean, beside the creepy look, he basically has the same body as you

Shadow: Aren't you with knuckles?

Rouge : even if I am in a relationship can't help but like handsome guys but I still have my knuckie as he's my only one * she said with a smirk while shadow roll he's eyes as them Rouge went to a serious expression *

Rouge : From I seen from your shadow, you already knew this would happen, so is there something I should know

Shadow was surprised Rouge caught on quick of mephiles and he's behavior but Rouge always sees * the diamond in the rough even though people's expressions *

Shadow then signed to himself

Rouge them, asked

Rouge: Is this another past life event from the so-called video game of us thing ?

Shadow nodded

Shadow : correct, the one we are facing is half of a God he's a dangerous and intelligent being who wants to rule time and space

Rouge was surprised not expecting such a big answer, but she calmed herself as she asked once again .

Rouge : you said half of a God right ? Where is the other half

Shadow explains how long ago the other half iblis the flames of disaster was sealed into princess Elise of the Soleanna kingdom and only when great emotion erupts from her the seal be broken however from he's past life it was caused by * however he stopped himself once he remembers sonics death it made him angry and sad because the fact that nows he's actually here and not playing the game sonic will actually die *

Rouge sees shadows mixed expressions

Rouge: you okay?

Shadow : I am fine I just...speak abt it later I am a bit tired

Rouge was confused but then a giant purple orb appeared out of nowhere and sent Shadow and Rouge into the distance future as they see a ruined city as mephiles was watching from afar and didn't want Shadow to ruin he's plans
