FOUR YEARS LATER...
Sabrina stood on the balcony of her and Finnick's room, staring at the light sunset that spilled over the sky slowly.
Today were the reapings for the 70th hunger games.
Sabrina's arms were wrapped around her body, trying to provide some warmth since she stood in the cold air only in her white nightgown. Her brown hair was let down her shoulders and her brown eyes were filled with every emotion possible. Anger, sadness, hapiness.
Sabrina held onto the railing and closed her eyes tightly as a flashback flashed before her.
She was thrown onto the floor in front of the stage and a whip made contact with her skin. She heard Finnick yelling when she screamed in pain. The peaceheekper only whipped her again, taking the flesh from abover her brow as well.
"You're going to freeze to death." Finnick's voice came from the doorway. Sabrina smiled a bit, tilting her head to the side as air flew through her hair. Finnick wrapped a blanket around her shoulders and stood next to her,his arm wrapped around Sabrina's waist."Can't sleep?"
"I had a nightmare."She quietly replied, opening her eyes and looking anywhere but Finnick.
"Why didn't you wake me?" She knew the question would come.
"I'm fine." The lie easily slid off of her tongue, shrugging her shoulders."Go back to sleep."
She felt warm fingers lift her cold jaw and despite not wanting to, she met his eyes.
"Sabby,"Finnick sighed softly, shaking his head."you need to wake me up next time, okay? I don't want you to suffer alone."She opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off." No,don't you dare say 'don't worry' or 'I'm fine' because I know you aren't."
Sabrina's eyes filled with tears and she shook her head before wrapping her arms around Finnick, burying her head in his bare chest.
"I'm sorry."She sniffed."I'm sorry for pushing you away."
"What's wrong,Sabby?"Finnick asked,concern in his voice."What's bothering you?"
"I just have a really bad feeling about the reapings." Sabrina muttered into his muscular chest."I don't want to get chosen."
"You won't,Sabby." Finnick shook his head in denial.
Her voice broke. "The chances are high--"
She was cut off when Finnick pulled her from the hug and locked lips with her. Sabrina's tears fell even more when she kissed him back softly.
Finnick wiped her tears and pulled away, leaning his forehead against hers. His thumb went towards the left side of her face and rubbed the scar she had a bit over her eyebrow. His thumb rubbed the scar she earned by being whipped in front of her whole district, for not wanting the love of her life to get taken into a bloodbath.
"If you do get chosen,"he whispered,"I need you to win,Sabrina."
He rarely used her name. he'd always use the childhood nickname he gave her as a two year old.
"I will."Sabrina nodded, another lie slipping past her lips. She wanted to win,she really did.
But the odds have never been in her favour.

When Sabrina woke up a few hours later,Finnick had already left.
She walked into the kitchen and was greeeted by a smell of pancakes and a note layed down next to it. The note was on a pink sticky note that was stuck to a cup of cofee.
I had to leave,mentor business. Eat,please. - F
Sabrina sat down and took a few bites despite the nasuea she felt. She gave up when she felt everything she ate so far climb up her throat and threaten to come out. Sabrina started sipping her coffee sip by sip.
She finished it in silence and walked back to her room. She got dressed in the fanciest black dress she could find and put her hair into a neat, slicked back ponytail.
She put on Finnicks large black boots and his black jacket, desperate for some comfort as she walked out of her house.
Everything was a blur to her. Getting there, standing in line. Giving her finger to the woman and hearing a robotic voice speak her name annd distrcit number.
Sabrina was thrown into reality when she stood in the back of the crowd, hiding from people's curious gazes.
Ever since Snow somehow found out about her and Finnicks relathionship two years ago and exposed them both on live television with Ceaser Flickman next to him, whenevver Sabrina would go out people would whisper and gaze at her. Some wanted to kill her because she was Finnick's loved one, some were curious. Of course, mostly it was the first one where they wanted to kill her.
The whispering and gazing would be under control or at least hidden from her whenever she'd go out with Finn. But,now that he wasn't here with her or anywhere near her, nobody held back.
The Panem's hymn played over the speakers when the district four escort climbed up on the stage. The blonde was in a pink dress this year,no glitter. she wore simple make up and her hair was curled.
"Welcome, everyone to the reapings for the 70th hunger games!"The blonde escort, whose name was Margot loudly spoke with the same tight smile she had on her face before pulling out Finnicks name four years ago."May the odds be ever in your favour."
The line made Sabrina's blood boil.
"Ladies frist,"Margot grinned unhumanly before walking towards the table with two bowls and stuffing her hand into the bowl with the female names. Sabrina watched Margot grab one and unrwap it,a frown now replacing her smile.
"Sabrina Everhart!"
