August 20th, 1374

I had not seen the Mikaelson's for days, not in the palace at all. I had spoken to my handmaid about them, she had said the palace workers had not seen them either. I wondered if they left, and went back to wherever they came from. I was saddened by the thought, of them leaving without a farewell.

I walked down the palace corridor with a smile, greeting anyone I passed. I secretly hoped I would run into the siblings as I walked, run into Niklaus.

I spotted Robert III standing at the palace entrance, where he said he would be waiting for me. I smiled widely as I approached and curtsied once in front of him. He smiled at me and snaked his arm around my waist. He scolded me for bowing my head to him again and led me out of the palace.

A carriage waited for us outside, being pulled by two gorgeous white horses. Robert pulled me with him, he opened the carriage door for me and ushered me inside. We sat side by side as we waited for the horses to bring us away. I had told him of the beautiful town of St. Albans and he enthused about visiting.

We sat in silence for most of the hour-long ride. I sat comfortably, watching the forests as we passed, the flowers and fuzzy creatures as they wandered the land. As I watched the wonderful ways of nature, I could not stop myself from thinking of the Mikaelson's--of Niklaus. How he was stuck in my head, I do not know.

"Is that the town? Are we here?" Robert blurted out as he pulled the carriage curtain back to look out his window. The smile on his face was precious. I looked out my window, ahead of us as the town buildings came into view.

"Yes. Welcome to St. Albans, Your Highness." I said as the carriage pulled us into the town. Small shouts and cheers were heard as we entered. St. Albans was very loving of the royal family. I looked out the window and waved to the townspeople with a smile, happy that they were happy to see me.

The carriage stopped in the town center, the marketplace. The few guards on horses behind our carriage dismounted, prepared to guard me. One of the guards approached our carriage and opened the door for us. He held out his hand to help as I exited. I took a deep breath as I stepped onto the ground. I smiled and waved to the people in town around us.

"I do not think I have seen a royal so well-liked as yourself," Robert says in my ear after he stepped out of the carriage. I smiled and let out a small chuckle.

"Come now. The marketplace here is right pleasant." I hooked my arm in his and pulled him along, trailing toward the many tents and tables set up for selling. The many tents cast colourful shadows throughout the marketplace, creating beauty. I stared in awe at the townspeople as we walked.

We walked around the town for what felt like hours, admiring the beauty of everything. We now walked through the maze of which was the town roads, watching the townspeople as the day faded and the night was becoming us.

As we passed an alleyway, I swore I saw someone speed through it and a crash sound followed. I slowed my walk and released my arm from Robert. I stared down the darkening alley, I squinted my eyes to see two people fighting, one of whom looked like Niklaus. I was not sure if my eyes were deceiving me or if it was the truth. I had been thinking of him all day, perhaps I was seeing things.

I giggled at the nonsense Robert was saying as he walked, pretending that I was listening. I noticed the guards were not focused on me so I snuck down the alley. Trying to quietly run over to the fighting individuals. When I approached, I saw him-Niklaus, hunched over and holding his head in pain. Elizabeth Bennett mutters a spell in his direction.

"Eliza," I shouted as I got closer. She turned to me in disbelief, continuing the spell. "Eliza. Cease whatever you are doing."

"Prissy. You do not know the monster that this man is." Her spell stopped as she spoke to me. I looked down at Niklaus, he took deep breaths and sighed. I felt sad for the pain she caused him.
