I stood under a large oak tree, leaning against its trunk as I ran the soft black chalk against the light parchment in my hands. I stared at her in awe, the Princess, the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. I traced the shape of her face on the paper, making sure to capture the adoring glance she held for the stars.
Her eyes sparkled in the darkness, captivating me. Her hair, unpinned and loose, flowed elegantly with the breeze. Her choice to not wear a cloak or fur to keep warm frustrated me, I wanted to run to her chambers and demand she wear something more. But another part of me loved the beauty of her skin out in the cold, the goosebumps on her arms as she stared out into the darkness.
I looked down at the drawing in my hand and back at her. No matter how many times I drew her, I was unable to capture her full beauty. I folded the parchment tightly and stuffed it into the pocket of my pants. I slowly followed the stone path that trails under the balcony she stood on.
"You should be in bed, should you not?" I spoke as I looked up at her. Her eyes widened at the sound of my voice and I smiled. She glanced down to where I stood with the smile I adore so much.
"I should." She mumbled as she looked back at the stars. A small streak of light crossed the sky and she gasped, smiling widely at the dark sky.
I sped up onto the balcony, climbing twenty feet in second. Stepping behind her and lowering my head to her ear, I whispered; "A shooting star. Make a wish."
She jumped at my statement. I grinned at her reaction and shook my head slowly. She was still getting used to being around a Vampire, it was amusing. I, myself, was not used to being around a Human so openly about who I was .
"That is not real," She said as she watched the stars again, I could sense she was hoping to see another star fly by. I couldn't help myself, I smiled deeply at her.
"You do not know unless you try." I pressed myself against her back, closing our short distance. She inhaled a sharp breath and my smile grew larger. I was never not smiling when near her. "Make a wish."
She turned her head slowly, her face inches from mine. A smile returned to her lips before she looked back up. She closed her eyes softly as she thought of something to wish for. I took this moment to admire her features once again. Her pale clear complexion, her plump pink lips, the rosy color that always appeared on her cheeks, and her beautiful, long, rich, brown hair.
"What is your wish?" I whispered with a smile.
"I cannot say," She whispered back. I groaned softly and chuckled. I gripped her waist and spun her around, back pressed against the railing. I stepped in front of her, her chest against mine and our faces closer than ever before. Her heart raced, I could hear it beating rapidly, and smell it under her skin.
"Now that is simply rude," I said softly. She let out a small sigh as she stared up at me. Her smell. Her look. It all drove me crazy. Worst of all, her taste, I wondered how she tasted- -her lips and her blood.
I lowered my head, my breath fanning her right cheek. Her heart raced even faster, I smiled at the reaction I got out of her. My lips brushed against her skin and my hand reached down to grab hers, pulling it up to my shoulder and laying it there, desperate to feel her touch. She slowly wrapped her arm around the back of my neck in response. I lifted my head slightly, we were now face to face.
He inched my face closer to hers, our lips brushing against each other softly. The light connection sent shock waves through me, making the hair on my arms stand up. I have never been so affected by a Human.
