When no one is around, my dear
You'll find me on my tallest tiptoes
Spinning in my highest heels, love
Shining just for you
- mirrorball, Taylor Swift
Louis had always been strikingly beautiful. He had taken Harry's breath away when he was a kid, a teen, and now an adult. His body was a temple, one Harry cherished with everything in him. A temple that had been through so much.
Harry trailed his finger along the curve of Louis' bicep. The sun was shining in through the window. Spring had come with the promise of better and warmer days.
Louis' eyes stirred in his sleep, and he opened them slowly. A smile broke on his face. "Hi," he whispered.
Harry's heart leapt a beat. He loved this man with everything in him, he had always been meant to love him, and he would do so for the rest of his days.
"Hey." He kissed Louis' cheek. "Slept well?"
Louis yawned, stretched. "Alright," he said. "You?"
"I missed you in my sleep," said Harry.
"I'm right here."
"I know." Harry placed a flat palm on Louis' chest. He could feel the other man's heartbeat.
It was Saturday, mere days since Louis had asked if they could move in together.
"Can I take you out today?" asked Harry.
Louis didn't answer his question. "You know what I just realised?"
Harry shook his head, an amused smile on his lips. "No."
"I've asked you to move in with me, we have told each other that we love each other, but we have yet to become official boyfriends."
Harry let out a laugh. "Well, in that case, I have to take you out today."
"Hmm, and why's that?"
"So I can ask you to be my boyfriend in a romantic way, doy."
A sad smile touched Louis' lips. "Just like when we were seventeen."
Harry kissed him, morning breath and all. "I know, and I'll woe the shit out of you, Tomlinson, just wait."
Louis giggled and buried his hands in Harry's curls. "Oh yeah? What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that I'll take you out for dinner and then... I'll take you to, let me think... aha! Ever been to an escape room?"
Louis raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm serious, babe. Let's go end a zombie apocalypse."
Louis snorted. "Alright, but only if you kiss me again."
"I think I can live with that."
Louis brought their lips together.

"Did you know that your eyes are like the depths of a forest?" Louis whispered as they walked through the park, hand in hand. It was late midday, and they were out on a walk before they would go back to Harry's place to take Harry's car and drive to the escape room.
"No, I didn't," Harry said, bemused. "Been thinking about that a lot?"
"For about two decades."
Harry pulled him in for a kiss. When they parted, he whispered, "I love you."
