Leila only said that because she wanted her friends to shut up. She didn't want to make a big deal over having received that drink from some guy no matter how good he looked.

"It's rude not to try out that drink Leila." Jessica said interrupting her thoughts.

"It's got alcohol in it and I won't be having any more after going through that horrible hang-over." Leila replied.

"Just have a sip and I can have the rest of it." Jessica tells her as she motions to a nearby server for an extra straw. "It looks really good."

Leila leaned forward and took a quick sip, it wasn't as bad as she thought. She took another long sip.

"This is actually great. The taste is very refreshing." Leila told her friend who took the glass so she could have a sip from it too.

"This guy knows how to order a drink for a lady." Jessica said and she turned to the other table and gave the guy a thumbs up as she motioned to the drink. He laughs in response and nods at her direction.

"Invite him over." Noelle said in between her teeth.

"Hell no." Leila replied immediately.

"Why not? You said he's worth considering." This time it was from Christine.

The emcee interrupted them when he walked in the middle of the stage and started speaking. After his opening spiel, he started to give a quick background about the resort. The owner was then introduced and he gave a speech as well.

During the speech, Leila couldn't help but notice Justin and the woman sitting too close to him whispering at each other. Their heads were bent low and her hand was on his arm caressing it as the corner of his lips curled up in a smile. She immediately looked away when she realized she was watching them too long. It seems like things are going well for him, she told herself, she didn't have to feel too guilty anymore.

The program continued and a group of local dancers came out and performed traditional dances. Everyone's attention was captured by the performance as each dancer gracefully moved around the stage with the music that exhibited the culture of the island. At the end of their dance, they were cheered and applauded by everybody.

The dancers started pulling people from the audience to teach them the basic dance steps. Leila's phone started to ring, her mother was calling her which sent her on her feet immediately thinking it might be an emergency. She rushed away from the noise to answer the call.

"Mom." It was Stella, so she thought it might be her parents that might be in trouble. But they too appeared on the screen and that made her let out a sigh of relief. She sometimes gets too jittery about things like that.

"Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" She answered with a smile.

"Good. I'm calling because Ava and I are having a sleepover here at Grandma and Grandpa's place." Her daughter said.

"Ok, did you ask them if it's ok with them?" She asked her daughter even if she knew her parents would agree to it, she just wants her daughter to use her manners. She's a single parent and she wanted to make sure that she raises her daughter right.

"Of course she did my dear. This isn't the first time they're having it at our place and we know Ava is a good kid." Her mother replied.

"You look lovely Leila. Did we interrupt you in the middle of something? " Her dad asked.

"Oh no, it's fine. The resort is just having this dinner program thing and everyone had to dress up." Leila explained.

"Well, you have a great time out there." Her mother said and they continued to talk for another five minutes before they start wrapping up their conversation.
