First Chapter of Future Stories: Part 3

Twilight Fanfic: Naoko X Embry

Naoko was a normal teenage girl living in Seattle. Then she noticed a sixteen year old girl going through trash cans looking for food. She'd seen her around before and realize she must be an orphan. The night she decided to go help her, turned out to be a huge mistake. As Riley, a boy that had been missing for months. Brought them both dinner and then took them to an alley where they were both turned by Victoria.

Actually, Bree was turned. Riley and Victoria believed Naoko was dead. But as Riley went to dispose of her body, he heard a very faint heartbeat. She was alive and in transition. So he put her with Bree and informed Victoria. Who was fine with letting Naoko turn as they needed all the help they could get.

Bree was very scared of her new life. So was Naoko. But she focused on Bree, feeling like it was her fault Bree had turned. Had she approached her sooner, maybe they both would still be human. Anyway, Naoko came up with a plan for her and Bree to escape. They'd do it while the others were distracted attacking the enemy clan called the Cullens.

Though things don't go quiet according to plan. When a wolf imprints on Naoko when he blocked her and Bree's path to escape. And they were offered sanctuary by the Cullens. If they surrendered. Which they did.

When the fight officially ended and the Cullens were starting to burn the dead newborns. Jasper watched over Naoko and Bree. As a grey wolf with black spots laid near by watching Naoko. He couldn't believe he imprinted on a vampire and a newborn. But he'd let no one harm her.

Naoko's POV

"Look out!" I shout when I spot Zeus appear. I guess they hadn't killed him like the others. He went to attack and a feminine wolf launched at him. A rusty wolf blocked her and Zeus wrapped his arms around it. Crushing the bones on the right side of his body before the others wolves killed him.

The one who gave Bree and I sanctuary examined the wolf. Before it was taken away by the pack. But the grey wolf remained. "Go with them" the bronze haired vampire tells me.

"Why?" I ask confused.

"He won't leave you and the pack can't be here when the Volturi arrive. Go with him" he tells me.

"But Bree" I say.

"We'll take care of her" the woman assures me.

"I'll be ok Naoko" Bree says through gritted teeth.

"But the smell will overwhelmed you if I leave" I tell her.

"You have a gift" the bronze haired vampire states.

"I can manipulate wind. I think, I never really tested it's limitations. But right now I am preventing us from smelling your human pet. If I leave Bree will be able to smell her" I state.

"I'll be ok" Bree assures me. I look at her doubtful. "Go Naoko" she tells me and I sigh. I slowly get up and follow the grey wolf out of the clearing. Worried about Bree and wondering what the Volturi is. Why couldn't I stay with Bree? Why did this wolf want me to be with him? So many questions. I could hear the rusty one still howling in agony.

"I'm sorry your friend got hurt" I tell the wolf. "Bree and I, we never wanted any of this. Hell I hate what we are, but there's nothing we can do to change it" I state. "I must be going crazy, I'm talking to a wolf" I mutter and he lets out a wolf chuckle. "Wait, you can understand me?" I ask looking into his warm brown eyes. Human eyes. He nods his head.

"Ok, what are you? Not a vampire, obviously. Are you a werewolf?" I ask him and he shakes his head. I frown, what other creatures turns into a wolf? We reach a clearing and see the rest of the pack. They growl and three head our way teeth bared snarling at me. "Whoa!" I exclaim backing away hands raised.

The grey wolf stands in front of me growling back at them. He looks eyes with the black one and whines. Before looking at me, then back as him. The black wolf huffs and turns back to the injured wolf. Leaving the other two watching me warily. "Are you sure I should be here? Maybe I should go back to Bree?" I suggest. He whines and the others growl. "I don't speak wolf ok" I tell them. I noticed the rusty one beginning to shrink and change shape as a sand wolf disappeared. "What's happening to him?" I ask confused.

Suddenly a naked boy laid where the injured wolf once did. Screaming in agony. I squeal covering my eyes turning my back to him. My poor innocent virgin eyes. A couple of the wolves chuckled. I keep my back turned until I feel a tap on my shoulder.

I turn to see only three people. "The others took Jake back to his house to wait for the doc. I'm Embry, this is Jared and Quil" the one who tapped my shoulder states.

"Pleasure, that name is Naoko" I state. "Um, where are the wolves?" I ask confused.

"We were the wolves" Quil states.

"Oh, so if you're no werewolves. What are you?" I ask confused.

"Wolf shifters, there's a lot to tell you" Embry tells me.

"I'm sure there is, but why couldn't I stay with Bree and the others? It's obvious the pack isn't pleased with me being here" I state.

"I couldn't leave you" Embry mutters.

"You were the grey wolf" I state and he nods his head. "Why couldn't you leave me?" I ask him confused.

"It's complicated" he states.

"We can explain things to her later and decide what to do then. We should focus on Jake" Jared states.

"I agree" Quil states.

"They're right, your friend needs you and I should get back to Bree" I state.

"Don't go" Embry pleads.

"Look we can't have you leave alone, you'll just have to stay until doc comes to see Jacob" Quil tells me. "Then you can return to Bree" he states.

"Besides, Sam ordered that you be watched by three pack members while here" Jared adds. "So lets go" he states heading off. We all follow, Embry staying close to me and Quil bring up the rare. I have no idea why I am here. I hope Bree is ok. And that I'll get some answers soon. Along that the rusty wolf, Jake recovers from his injuries.

Maybe even get the truth about why Bree and I were created with the others. Then maybe we could start a new life free of death and lies. I guess only time will tell.
