"Kacchan." Izuku whimpered, the omega sitting as close to his mate as possible. He pumped out calming pheromones to try and comfort the alpha who looks seconds away from passing out. Izuku doesn't ask any questions, he just sits beside Katsuki, waiting for his mate to continue if he wants to.

Izuku learned in therapy that it's best to keep quiet and allow the other person to process their thoughts. Too many questions can be overwhelming and end up making the person angry or withdrawn. Izuku desperately wants to know what is going on inside Katsuki's mind, and if the alpha had really meant what he said, although he was pretty sure that his mate had meant it. This is the first time that Katsuki has ever said anything like this. Not even when Katsuki had woken up countless times in the hospital, had he complained about his job. He was hungry to get out of bed and kick more ass.

After a couple minutes, the alpha muttered that he wanted to go home. Hound Dog and Izuku understood immediately. "Kacchan, can I take you home?"

The only thing Katsuki is sure about is, that right now, he doesn't want to be with anyone but Izuku. He grunted, letting his mate hold his hand and lead him out the door. Katsuki didn't care who saw him in this state, the only thing that mattered is that Izuku is beside him.

"Sakura Heights please" Izuku instructed the cab driver.

Katsuki wasn't even paying attention to where they were going, he just looked out the window, blinking slowly. Izuku had never seen him disassociate like this. He was so used to a gruff, aggressive alpha, that this broken man felt like a stranger. Izuku pushed those thoughts aside, this is his mate, and he needs support.

They made it to the apartment building, the elevator attendant pushed the button to the 12th floor. Izuku led the way until they stopped in front of his door. Izuku knew that once they crossed this boundary, things would be different, but he no longer cared. Opening the door, the omega pulled Katsuki inside, the alpha chuffing when he finally roused enough to realize that he isn't in his apartment, but Izuku's.

"Alpha, I'm going to help you bathe, but first I need to call a recovery nurse. Hopefully they can be here by the time I'm finished bathing you."

"Deku, I."

"I'm helping you, Kacchan. You're my...you're my mate, and this is what a mate does when the other needs help."

Even in his rough state, Katsuki was releasing a copious amount of happy pheromones. "You're my mate again? You still love me?"

Izuku rolled his eyes while yanking off Katsuki's boots. "Yes, Kacchan, it's always been you. I'm not going to lie and say we are perfect, but this is the best we've ever been. Now shut up and let me get you out of your clothes."

Izuku teared up at the sight of multiple lacerations scattered around Katsuki's torso and back. The villain must have been a heteromorph, one with talons. Izuku was gentle in washing his mate's hands. Those took a beating as well. The blood that Izuku had seen at Hound Dog's had belonged to Katsuki.

"Don't cry, Omega." Katsuki crooned. "We both know I've seen worse."

That didn't make Izuku feel any better. Seeing his alpha shaking from shock was not something Izuku was ever going to be ok with, especially knowing that Katsuki didn't want to be a hero anymore. No, it was time he put his foot down and do what is best for their family.

Thankfully, this hero apartment building has a nurse on call 24 hours. Usually heroes will go to the hospital for major injuries, but there are times when a patch up job will do. In this instance, Katsuki's injuries aren't too serious. A special ointment will close up the wounds, and in a couple days Katsuki should be able to go back to work.
