The morning at Om Nivas and Baig Manzil was relatively busy because of the two reasons. First, there was a big party thrown to celebrate the success of their daughters and second it was the 18th birthday of their beloved Bondita.
"Bondita! Kahan hai tu?" Vashma practically screamed barging into the hall of Om Nivas.
"Oye awaaz niche rakh! Soyi hui hai meri behen!" Uday said holding her arms.
"Haath chhod mera. Meri bhi dost hai vo. Main toh chillaungi aur zor zor se chillaungi!" Vashma said and was about to scream again but Uday kept his palm over her mouth which caught her off guard. Both of them looked into each other's eyes.
Vashma's POV
"Kinna sonna dikhta hai! Kaash ye waqt yahin tham jaaye aur hum aise hi ek dusre ke aankhon mein doobe rahen!" I thought as I continued to look into his deep black orbs. I have loved Uday ever since I was 15 but never had the guts to confess it because of Bondita being his sister and our families being such good friends. I don't want to be the reason behind their broken friendship and most importantly I cannot hurt Bondita. She has already faced so much betrayal in her previous relationships but even after being through so much, she has trusted me and loved me. I cannot betray her. I cannot let her lose the faith she has on humanity and love. I cannot be the reason she breaks down once again and for that I'm ready to sacrifice my love. If my sacrifice can keep her happy, I will do it a hundred times over.
Uday's POV
As I looked into her eyes, I felt everything around me blurring. Ever since I was 17, I've been getting these butterflies around her. Earlier it used to be so casual with her. We used to play together, laugh together, eat together and what not but with time I started developing this little crush on her and sometimes it gets so overwhelming that I start to loose my mind around her. Her beauty. Her aura. Her way of speaking. Her love for my sister and my family . Everything makes it impossible to not fall for her. But I have to stop. I have to stop before it's too late.
She's my sister's best friend. The sister for whom I'm ready to kill and be killed. The sister whose happiness is my top priority. All my life ever since Bondita has come into my life, I've prayed for her happiness. All I've prayed for is her smile and one of the major reasons why she is smiling today is Vashma. Her friendship. Her companionship. I cannot sacrifice her friendship for my love. I cannot let Bondita down for myself. I cannot be that selfish. Bondita trusts me a lot for that fact. I don't know if it's wrong or right to lie to her but for my little sister, I'm ready to go to any heights of wrongs. At the end of the day, her smile is worth all the pain I will have to endure.
Before I could say anything else to Vashma, I heard maa calling out my name therefore I jolted away from her.
End of POVs
"Uday, Bondita ko dekha tune? Subah se dekha nahi maine. Pata nahi kahan chali gayi hai ye kudi!" Rajrani asked him.
"Maa abhi ek ghante pehle tak toh so rahi thi. Main dekhne gaya tha!" Uday said being worried about her sister's disappearance.
"Toh phir kahan chali gayi ye?" Rajrani said with worry written all over her face. While they were conversing, Vashma listened to them intently.
"Kahin ye Publication House toh nahi chali gayi na?" Vashma thought to herself.
"Vashma, tenu pata hai kahan gayi hai vo?" Rajrani asked her.
"Mujhe, nahi toh! Bilkul bhi nahi!" She said stammering. She, like the duo, was concerned for her too all the while being scared of getting caught. Uday sensed her fear therefore urged her mother to remain calm while he goes and looks for her.
