."Tumse chipakne se achha mai cactus ko chipakna pasand karungi." She replied with a tight lipped smile.
(I would like to stick to cactus instead of sticking to you.)Abhimanyu clenched his jaw, his eyes narrowing as he stared at Divisha.
"Why are you here? Needed me to help you in your career?"Divisha leaned back in the plush armchair, crossing her legs casually.
"I'm here because this place is quite challenging. And for your kind information, I don't need your help in my career. I'm in a company named *Emway Ltd.* whose CEO is Mr. Anand Singh. And you are definitely not him."Abhimanyu scoffed at her response and said. "The person you are talking about is my father. And for YOUR kind information, I'm the one who runs this company. "
Divisha's lips curved into a sly smile. "Wait! This is your company's magazine right? I can't see your face in this. Leave face, I can't see anyone named *Abhimanyu Singh* in this."
"I swear you are gonna regret it very soon." He said while Divisha smirked looking at him so frustrated.
Their verbal duel was interrupted by the sound of the door opening. Anand Singh walked back into the room, his phone call concluded. He noticed the tension in the room but chose to ignore it for the time being.
"Alright, everything seems to be in order. Miss Divisha, welcome to our company. I trust you and my son will work well together," Anand said, his tone cheerful but firm.
Divisha stood up, extending her hand to Anand once more.
"Thank you, Mr. Singh. I look forward to contributing to the company."Anand smiled and turned to his son. "Abhimanyu, please ensure Miss Divisha has everything she needs. "
Abhimanyu nodded though his expression remained stony.
"Of course, Dad. I'll take care of it. And dad, I need to talk to you.""We'll talk later. Okay?" Anand asked Abhimanyu, to which he nodded.
With formalities concluded, Anand left the room, leaving Abhimanyu and Divisha alone once again. The door clicked shut behind him, and the tension immediately returned.
Abhimanyu walked towards his desk, leaning against it with his arms crossed. "So was this your plan all along? To come to my office and distract me?"
Divisha raised an eyebrow, amusement dancing in her eyes.
"Distract? Khud ko itna importance mat do, dear Abhimanyu. Main yahan sirf kaam ke liye hoon."
(Distract? Don't give yourself so much importance, dear Abhimanyu. I'm here only for work.)Abhimanyu's eyes flashed with anger. "Work? Or your other so-called way to take revenge."
Divisha stood up, her face hardening.
"Listen, Abhimanyu I'm here just for my career and I don't have any problem with you. Your action was the reason behind my reaction. And I don't want to continue that childish banter. I hope the same from you."Abhimanyu took a step closer, his voice low and menacing.
"Have you forgotten so quickly what happened between us?"Divisha met his gaze, her eyes cold. "No, I haven't forgotten anything. I just don't want to continue that revenge game. I think you will also try not to"
Their intense standoff was interrupted by the opening of the door.Divisha and Abhimanyu were standing so close to each other that they could feel each other's breath on their face. Divisha took a few steps back after looking at her position. Abhimanyu cleared his throat and looked at his secretary with anger filled eyes.
"Don't you know how to knock?" Abhimanyu spoke in a loud and authoritative voice to the secretary who entered, carrying a stack of files.
"I'm sorry sir." She apologized and looked down.
