Katy took us to the mall and I decided to sit on a bench while she bought Ella some clothes. I yawned and scratched the back of my head. I pulled out the fairy from my pocket. "When do you think she'll come get you?"

She tilted her head with a chirp.

"The tooth fairy. The main one." I looked around to make sure no one saw me talking to my crotch. "The one I saw when I was younger."

Her eyes widened for a moment, and she tried to shrug.

I took a deep breath. "That's okay. She'll try to find you, and that's when I'll see her. You have to get that tooth back to her."

She smiled while lowering her head. I could see she was blushing a bit.

"I'm going to put you in the sweater of my pocket. Don't leave okay? I trust you. I just...I just don't want to take the chance of not seeing her. Especially, now that I know it's not a dream." I placed the fairy in my pocket.

The fairy chirped as she nodded. I looked back at the store, and I saw Katy and Ella walking out of it.

"Here. I bought you some clothes," Katy said as she handed me a bag. "You need pajamas."

I paused, taken aback. I looked into the bag and pulled out the blue pajamas. "These feel really soft."

"They're supposed to," Katy said.

"I picked those. Blues my favorite color," Ella said.

"Check the size though," Katy said. "We can easily return them right now."

"They're the right size." I smiled. "There's something else in here." I pulled out a green Doubtless lanyard. I paused. "Is this mine?"

"Yeah," Katy said. "I hope you like it. I mean, I've only heard you play that game every time your parents aren't home."

I grinned as I looked at the quote on the lanyard. "Doubtless, I continue with my journey to find the thing I love." I laughed. "Thank you."

Katy smiled. "Now come on. We have lunch and a park to go to."

We got lunch and she took us to the park. I could faintly hear the small fairy chirp as I slid down giant slides with Ella. I definitely heard her chirp as I jumped off the jungle gyms and swings. It started getting dark, so Katy took us back to her house.

She made dinner, and we had a full conversation about stars.

"But mommy, if the stars move, why do they stay in the same place every night," Ella asked.

I smiled. "I think its because they show up at the same time every night."

Katy nodded. "Yeah. That's basically it. It'll get too complicated for you if we explain further." She locked her eyes with me.

The light in Katy's eyes made me feel a little uncomfortable and completely safe. It made me realize how old I was, but it also made me realize I could believe in whatever I wanted. I smiled as I thought about what my dad meant about my own light in my eyes.

I nodded. "Well, I'm full. I'm going to wash my dish."

"Oh, no you're not," Katy said. "You're a guest. That means you don't do anything I should do. You guys go brush your teeth."

I let out a small laugh. "Alright. I'm pretty tired anyway. I'm not used to being out and using energy."

Ella raised a brow. "You mean playing?"

I nodded. "The only play I've done since I was twelve is video games."

"Mommy says that's bad for you," Ella said.
