It was my first day and I was scared of coming in the middle of the year to a new school. I didn't know anyone or where to go. After getting done from the office I decided to walk to find my locker. My mother, Brianna was still in the office talking with the staff. I couldn't find my locker so I went up to this boy who looked nice. "Will you help me find my locker?" I asked. I hated to pull him away from his friends and I apologized so many times as he walked me to my locker. My locker was right next to his so in a way I was glad to have asked him. Before I could tell him thank you he walked away. Just when I thought I might have someone to make as a friend he was gone in a quick second. I opened my locker and put my things in there and got out the book I needed for my first class.
I looked at my schedule and the map to find my class. First period I had English which was my favorite subject. I was really good at English. As soon as I walked in the classroom seemed like everyone was there already. One face stood out. The boy who helped me find my locker was in there sitting by himself. After handing my paper to the teacher. He told me to take a seat next to him. I took the chance and introduced myself him to and he told me his name was Cameron. He seemed really nice but not too much interested in wanting to talk. I pulled out my book and just sat there listening to the teacher. The teacher decided to assign us projects and this was the first time Cameron actually had a conversation with me when he asked me to be his partner.
After school, I went over to Cameron's house to work on our project together. It was pretty fun hanging out with him once we were done. There was a connection I felt but I didn't know what I was feeling. I didn't realize his mother was the baseball coach until his mother walked into his room asking why he wasn't in baseball. "I'm sorry I didn't know you had baseball practice," I told him after his mother left the room. I felt bad for him missing his practice but he told me it was fine.
After getting home my mother Brianna asked where I had been and how school was. I told her it was pretty good and that I was doing a project with someone I met at school. My mother was glad I had a good day at school. My father Drake came home in a bad mood because he had a bad day at work. My dad was a transfer principal at a middle school. He dealt with kids who barely knew how to act. My mother was a stay-at-home mom. After my sister killed herself two years ago she became a stay-at-home mother. I could tell my parents were still trying their hardest to deal with her death. My mother felt like if my sister Taylor hadn't met her boyfriend Brandon everything would have been different.
Taylor changed in many different ways when she met Brandon. Brandon had been in jail a few times for many things. My parents never approved of him but they couldn't stop her from seeing him. She would always sneak out or lie to them about who she was with or where she was going. When she found out Brandon didn't want her anymore and wanted someone else she decided to take a life herself in the bathroom when no one was home. My mother was the one who found her and it broke her heart completely. My father really never was bugged about it, my father loves us and we knew it but he didn't really care about what we did.
It took almost a year for my mother to get over my sister's death and for a long time my mother was worried about me hurting myself. I wasn't like my sister. I wouldn't hurt myself over someone who didn't love me. I have more respect for my parents than to hurt them in that type of way. My relationship with my mother has changed a lot since my sister died. We all were very close but she didn't want to be a mother after my sister's death so I stopped seeing her as a mother and pulled back. Now that she's doing better she wants that relationship back with me but it's hard to get there with her and in a way I don't want it back with her.
After dinner, I went to my room and started to get everything ready for the next day. I laid out my clothes and took a shower. I made sure my alarm was set for the morning. The next morning I was up earlier than what I was supposed to be so I decided to look into the school's baseball team. As I was doing so I saw that Cameron was the captain of the team and that they hadn't lost a game since he had been on their team. From everything I saw, Cameron was very well-liked by his teammates and by people at school.
Once I got to the school I saw Cameron waiting by my locker. "Hey Cameron," I said as I walked up to him. "Hey I was wondering if would you like to hang out after practice today," he said to me as I opened up my locker. It was nice to have a friend. I agreed to wait at school till he was done with practice to hang out with him. Since I was going to be waiting for him, I decided why not just go and watch his practice with the team. I was really looking forward to spending some time with him. My ex-boyfriend decided to text me during my lunch period asking to get back together but I didn't know what to say to him so I ignored him. I was more into what feelings I was getting by hanging out and being around Cameron.
