A/N here! Need to plot out stuff, so enjoy this for now~
(Takes place a year before the current timeline)
.When Shouta entered the classroom, he fully expected to not see anything out of the ordinary..... Or, well, that was until he met Hoka Morikaga. Still, that didn't prepare him for the sight of said first year taking a drag from a cigarette, ignoring the mortified look on her teacher's face.
"Morikaga."
"Mr. Aizawa."
"What are you doing?"
"Smoking? The hell does it look like?"
He frowned, holding out his hand. With a roll of her eyes, Hoka reluctantly placed the cigarettes in his hand.
"How many times must I say not to smoke in class?" Shouta scolded. "I suggest you work this out before it becomes a problem, Morikaga."
"You're not my dad." Hoka huffed in response.
"Good. If I was your father I'd be punishing you for it."
He didn't know why, but the girl flinched at that.
.
"So, how's the student treating you?" Hizashi teased.
"Fuck you, Hizashi." Shouta hissed at him. "The nerve of that girl! If I didn't see the potential in her, I'd have her expelled!" He ranted.
"Well, surely she can't be that bad if-"
Nemuri didn't get to finish, the door to the teachers lounge swinging open. One of his students, Yukiko Yaseiji, he believed, was panting, looking slightly panicked.
"Yaseiji, can't you see-"
"Morikaga's gone!" She blurted out, cutting her off. "I- I think I smell blood?! S- she went into the bathroom and hasn't been out in a minuteandIdon'tknowwhatto-"
"YASEIJI!"
This was a poor weak to be sober, wasn't it?
"Calm down. I'll check it out, okay?" Shouta said, trying to reassure the nervous wreck of a student.
And that was how Shouta ended up standing outside of the girls bathroom, Nemuri at his side.
".... I'm not going in there." Shouta said bluntly.
Nemuri snickered.
"Alright, I'll see what everything's on about. I'm certain it's not that bad!"
She entered the bathroom, Shouta leaning against a wall, trying to stomp out the worry that he felt. The kid would be fine. That's if she wasn't fine to begin with! Besides-
"SHOUTA!"
The moment Nemuri ran out the bathroom, a limp Hoka in her arms, blood dripping from the teen's arm, something in him broke.
Within seconds, the group was in Recovery Girl's office, the three staff members all in an uncomfortable silence as Hoka looked away.
".... Seven. We found seven cuts on your left arm. And since you obviously don't have a knife on you...." Shouta trailed off.
"Shut up." She hissed our at him, hugging herself.
That made the teacher pause. On one hand, if he pushed, he could probably get an answer out of the girl, but could risk losing her trust.... Or, there was plan B. He lets her lie to him, and slowly gain her trust, and try to help her over time. Note: he hates plan B.
"Okay."
"WHAT?!" Nemuri and Recovery Girl shrieked.
"Recovery Girl has healed you, and there won't be any scarring. I suggest you be more careful with your cutting supplies, or I might just expel you." Aizawa said, glaring slightly at her. "Now, get to class."
Hoka nodded, before leaving the office. As soon as that door closed, the two woman whirled on him.
"ARE YOU INSANE?! GENUINELY I'M ASKING!" Nemuri shouted at him.
"Well what was I supposed to do?!" Shouta retorted. "I need her to trust me! Interrogating her will simply just scare her off!"
"Well what do you expect to do if it gets worse?" Recovery Girl questioned.
"I need to be patient." He calmly stated. "Let me try and help her.... I'm not an underground hero for nothing."
*Fast forward to an entire year later....*
"Yo, Dadzawa, you okay?" Hoka asked, watching as the man spaced out.
He snapped out of it, hiding a grin.
'Yeah,' he thinks to himself, 'I made the right choice.'
