Final Smoke

Hoka walked through the halls of the hospital, her wings twitching in agitation, as if sensing something off. The looked around, frowning.

"The hell is...." She mumbled.

The then stopped walking, her instincts flaring up. She looked to her right, dodging out of the way just as a massive fist swung at her.

Re-Destro glared.

Hoka glared back.

"Re-Destro...." She growled, her wings spreading out in all their glory.

"You.... You're to blame for all this!" The villain hissed. "Because of you, all our goals are going to end! It's all your fault!"

Hoka's wings twitched, moth scales wafting off of them. She knew she couldn't use her quirk to its full extent while in the hospital, so....

"Smoke 'Em Out!" She announced, releasing a thick bubble of smoke around Re-Destro. She turned towards the civilians, shouting "Go! Run! Get out of here!"

A second later, the villain had his hand around her throat, launching them both outside through a window. Hoka coughed, Re-Destro making his way over to her.

"Pathetic...."

Hisoka glared.

"THM (Tobacco Hawk Moth) Screech!" She shouted, taking a deep breath.

A scream erupted from her throat, launching the villain back, a harsh ringing in his ears. Hoka rose to her feet, wings fluttering with newfound vigor.

She wouldn't let this villain hurt anyone else. Not if it cost Hoka her life.

She then flew up, saying "You want me?! Catch me!"

She had a plan. A damn near suicidal one, but still a plan. She could hear the thuds of the villain behind her, gritting her teeth as she forced herself to slow down, just out of his reach.

"You know your problem, Re-Destro?!" She yelled. "You're too damn confident!"

Hoka then flushed out as much smoke as possible....

And brought down a building on top of them.

.

Shouta lost it the moment he heard that Hoka was fighting a villain alone. So, when he saw that building fall on top of her and Re-Destro, and had such a cold reminder of Oboro Shirakumo, he had never ran so fast in his life.

"HOKA!" He shouted.

Once he made it to the wreckage, he knew already that he couldn't do multiple things at once....

"Oi, teach."

He turned around, the remainder of 2A running past him. Bouran calmly walked over, patting his shoulder.

"We got damage control. Help Daichi and Yukiko find Hoka." She said, before stepping past him.

Shouta let a smile grace his lips, running in. A chunk of debris fell towards him, before abruptly stopping.

"Go! We'll cover you!" Toki shouted, using her quirk to freeze debris.

"Hibana, I need an opening!" Shouta yelled, gripping his capture scarf.

Hibana took a deep breath, letting out his explosive gas. Feza swooped in, flapping his wings to push it forward right as it ignited. Before long, Yukiko and Daichi were at his sides, Daichi sending out a few of his drones to scan the surroundings.

"I got her!" He yelled.

He ran over to some rubble, Shouta paling when he saw the limp hand on Hoka hanging out of it. Him and Yukiko quickly pulled off the rubble, pulling Hoka's limp body out.

"Hoka! Wake up!" Yukika shouted.

Hoka didn't move for a moment, making all their hearts stop....

"Does anyone have a cigarette?" She groaned.

All of them let out a breath of relief.

"You're fucking insane." Daichi scolded.

"Haha- okay, but seriously, I think I broke something when I got crushed...."

Shouta scoffed. He then sighed, letting a smile grace his face.

"Hoka Morikaga.... You're officially my most crazy student."

*Around a year later....*

"You're stalling." Shouta commented, watching the girl fumble with her graduation uniform.

"Shut up! I don't stall I just-"

"No, I'm not giving you a cigarette."

He grabbed her shoulders, forcing her to focus on him.

"You'll do great. Just.... Try getting high on heroism." He said.

Hoka snickered, saying "You sound like an actual dad now."

"Logic be damned. You're mine, and you know it." He retorted.

With that, he pushed Hoka out onto the graduation stage, the eighteen year old flashing him a smile. Shouta let out a sigh, unable to suppress the grin that adorned his face.

He supposed he was the one high on heroism.
