"May I have your attention?" Yami clapped his hands together. We all faced him. "I have some good news..Your performance has been recognised by the Magic Emperor himself.. So you receive a star..." He holds out a star that looks tiny in his hands. "Yes!" Asta cheered. "What are stars?" I asked. "They are awarded by the Magic Emperor based on performance. It's like an honour for both men and women..." Vanessa explained. Asta got even more excited and jumped up and down like a child. "The Magic Knights compete to earn these stars. Golden Dawn has the highest number of stars with 70 stars."
"As of now, we have negative 30 stars...We're hundred stars away from Golden Dawn." Yami smirked. "What?!" Asta exclaimed. This truly is the worst squad. Yami handed us a bag of cash. A lot of cash. "Woah..." The weight of the bag pushed against my hands... I suppose I could give to his back to my hometown... "I could buy so much nomotatoes!" He looked at the bag in awe. "Nomotatoes? You know what, I don't wanna know..." I left the area before he could explain.
On my way to my room, I bumped into Yami, who towered over me. "Hey, brat. What was your name again..? You can drop the act..." He pointed at me. I jerked my head back ever so slightly but kept my calm composure. "What act..?" How did he find out... Maybe he isn't so dumb... "You're hiding something... It's obvious... I'm not gonna pry but like it or not, you are part of the squad... Which means you gotta stop being distant to your squad mates..." He looked over at Asta, Vanessa and Noelle. "I didn't just put you here because of your magic power. I put here because you are one weird kid." He chortled. I relaxed my shoulders and narrowed my eyes, looking down. "Yes, Captain..."
"Let's go shopping at the town. I'll bring the three of you." Vanessa said. "Pass." I was about to walk away but I looked Yami staring at me with a 'I'll kill you' look. I turned around and crossed my arms, looking away from Vanessa. "Fine..."

I sat at my desk, spinning my pen. What do I write in my letter? I guess I could give half my money back... Or all of it... I pressed my pen against the paper for a moment and started writing.
'Mother, I have joined the Magic Knights like you asked me to. I promise I'll do that thing for you... For now, take this money. I don't have a use for it...' I picked up the paper from the table and read it again. I put it on the table and snatched my grimoire from my crusty bed. I browsed through my wardrobe, put on an outfit and joined Vanessa outside.

We were on Vanessa's broom, flying to town. "(Y/N), have you been to castle town~?" "I passed by that place... I met Asta and Yuno around there." I responded to Vanessa, glancing at Asta in front of me. Eventually, we reached the Commoner Realm and walked through the marketplace. It was lively to say the least.
No one's POV
'This place is amazing! If only I could bring Sister Lily and the kids at church here... But, you know what, I have (Y/N) with me... It's great either way...' Asta thought to himself as he walked alongside the other three. Up in the sky, a tall figure flew on his broom with a nosebleed. Of course, it's Gauche. Asta ran through the marketplace excitedly, looking at all the shops but hot buying anything. "Oi, slow down... You're gonna trip..." (Y/N) called out to Asta.
"Are those Magic Knights...? They're Black Bulls. We should stay away from them." Some murmured among themselves. As the four walked past them, (Y/N) glanced behind at the passers-by and sneakily summoned a dove that pecked them. Their frantic yelps were like music to her ears. She chuckled softly to herself and caught up to Vanessa. She took them to a dark, mysterious alley and walked through the wall. 'Aye?' The trio followed her cautiously.
As they walked in, their eyes feasted the row of creepy-looking shops, all together known as 'The Black Market'. "This place looks..illegal.." (Y/N) muttered as she looked around. Most of the sellers were wearing hoods. "Mhm.. But this place has effective magic tools." The three rookies looked around in awe. "Psst, hey you..." A hooded man whispered to (Y/N).. "Would you like lucky charms... I think they'd suit you." He gestured to a row of necklaces, all of them had the same figurine. A bird that was half-dove, half-raven. "These are just necklaces... Besides, 'charms' are bullshit..." (Y/N) inspected the supposed 'charms'.
"Say, have you ever been in a state of immense power but zero control over yourself. Take this necklace and you can overcome this problem..We live in a world of magic. How could lucky charms not exist? And this is not just a 'charm" The man chortled. (Y/N) looked at him for a moment. He was spot on about what she experienced at Saussy Village. "Fair point." She reached her hand out to grab a necklace but the man stopped her and eyes drifted to a sign. '1 for 100 silver.' 100 SILVER?! (Y/N) looked at him in shock and heaved a sigh.

(Y/N) returned to Vanessa adjusting the newly purchased charm on her neck. When she was approaching Vanessa, she swore she could have seen that man transform into an old lady. But maybe that was just her imagination? "Woah, (Y/N).. That looks really pretty on you!" Asta pointed at the necklace. (Y/N) smiled slightly. Sekke happened to pass by and noticed (Y/N) and Noelle. 'They're so pretty!'
"Noelle, this might work.." (Y/N) handed Noelle a chain, which she wore and shot a waterball. The waterball turned and went straight to (Y/N) who stepped to the side. Sekke fell back, drenched. He stood up and looked at the two of them with flirty eyes. "The Black Market is not a place for pretty girls like you two. Allow me to lead you outside."
"Die in a hole." "Go away, lowly insect." (Y/N) responded followed by Noelle. Asta came interrupting, holding out a strange and, honestly hideous, item. "Hey! I found something cool!" "What even is that?" (Y/N) was half-curious but at the same time judgemental of Asta's...strange selection. Behind him was a glaring Sekke. "Hey aren't you Haha?" Asta pointed at him. (Y/N) finally remembered this guy. "Oh, you're the one I punched at the Entrance Exam." "My name is Sekke!"
An old lady's voice pierced through the marketplace, "THIEF!!"
