??? POV

The walls were white, glowing... As if light was everywhere and nowhere. You took a step forward, unsure how far you should put your foot down. The 'ground' blended with the 'walls'. The place felt familiar to you, despite never having seen it in your life. The room felt like all your five senses were  turned off, like being born again. You walk forward and look around, as if anything in this place would change. It wouldn't change.

You walk and walk, your footsteps gradually quickens, you're panicking, you're agitated. You don't know where you are, you don't know what this place is making you feel. Fear, maybe? Peace, yes. It felt.. peaceful. Why was it peaceful? It shouldn't be, right? Nothing is happening, you should be worried. No, you're at peace, nothing is happening. You walk slower and see a figure on the ground, its (H/C) hair is messy and all over the place, its clothes were shaggy and torn as if a beast clawed it. Its left eye was black, jet black, and, what appeared to be ink, was dripping down its cheek. Its right eye was completely white, as if its iris had been ripped out. Eerie. Now how do you feel knowing this figure is you.

It's you.

You're dead. Your body is lifeless, it cannot move. It will never move. Soulless, useless, worthless. You stand over your body, alarmed, and terrified. You're going to die soon. Soon. You panic, and grip your forehead. A piercing pain shot your mind, and your screams and wailing echoed through the 'room'. Shrieks and cries. A voice came back. Your voice. And your mother's overlapping.

"(Y/N)."

"(Y/N)?"

"(Y/N)? Are you okay? You've been staring at your plate for a while now.." Sister Lily spoke softly, as she served everyone at the dining table their plate.  (Y/N)'s widened slightly as she looked around. Salim, the orphans and Father Orsi were seated as Sister Lily passed everyone their plates of steaming hot nomotatoes. (Y/N) glanced at everyone, confused. Was that whole thing just a dream? But she wasn't sleeping. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine.." She replied, in a tone that made it seem like she was lying. But no one paid it much thought. Yuno narrowed his eyes slightly at his response but kept his eyes on his plate.

She scooped up a spoon nomotatoes and gobbled it up. "WHY IS IT SO HOT?!" (Y/N) jumped out of her seat and yelled, fanning her mouth. And dry too." Salim added. "Yuno and Asta had sent us money. They really helped." Father Orsi said with pride, and wet eyes. 'Does he always cry?' (Y/N) thought. "How much did Asta send you?" Yuno asked Sister Lily. The moment she whispered the answer in his ear, Yuno's mouth opened slightly. Salim cleared his throat, "Sister Lily, may I have some water?" He asked with a polite tone. Anyone above the age of five could see through his 'sweet' demeanour. Sister Lily went outside to fetch some water.

Something bad happened. Yuno ran out of the churched, followed closely by (Y/N) the  everyone else. Sister Lily was gone, just like that, her vase was on the ground in pieces. (Y/N) picked up a brooch on the floor, it looked familiar. "It's the same men who came after Salim." Salim kneeled in the ground in 'emotional distress.'

As Yuno was about to go after Sister Lily, Klaus stopped him. "Our mission is to protect Salim. We'll let the local authorities to handle this." He summoned the carriage and gestured at the four of them to get on. 'Aren't we the authorities, idiot?' (Y/N) questioned him in her mind. Yuno flew away on his broomstick anyway, leaving a pissed Klaus. (Y/N) looked at Klaus and Yuno in the distance, before summoning her wings. "(Y/N), not you too!"

"Sorry, four-eyes. Your mission seems a lot more boring.' She jumped up from the ground and flew in the air, following Yuno. By the time she landed, he had already taken down one of the men. "That was.. fast." She looked at the knocked out man with raised eyebrows.

(Y/N) POV

We reached crossroads in the big ass forest. I took left, Yuno took the right. I walked through the deep woods, with caution. WHOOSH. A gust of wind blew behind, swiftly. I glanced over my shoulder. WHOOSH. Again, to the left. I readied my grimoire. Right there. From the trees. The shadowy figure appeared leaping, with their leg extended about to kick me. While they were mid-air, I clenched my fists and swung my arm towards them.

The moment we made contact, I punched their shin, and they landed on the ground on their two feet to the side, drifting a bit. Whoever this was, they had a good balance. They charged me with a dagger before I held their wrist. The impact caused us to fall, me at the bottom. As I violently flailed my hands to escape from the grasp, I pulled their hood down. We both stopped moving. I looked into his grey  eyes. We stared at each other, not moving an inch, besides his  blue messy hair swaying in the wind.

"Wren?"
