It was already dinner time when Valdis reached her father's place. Her younger brother came towards her like a cannonball but then suddenly stopped looking at her with eager eyes. Valdis smiled and patted him on the head messing it up. Now his hair looked like a bird's nest and a slight smile appeared in her eyes. She walked in and saw that her father was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper. When he saw her he closed his newspaper and got up. She gave him a polite smile and looked at her leg where her brother was still hugging her.
Her brother let go of her and went to the kitchen. She and her father settled down around the dining table and her aunt brought out the dishes while the little carrot head was helping his mother. During the time dishes were getting arranged on the table her father asked her about her situation and her plans. She told him about her leaving the company and told him about her plan to start her own company.
They discussed briefly about this topic and by that time all the dishes were served on the table. Four of them had dinner together and in between she teased her brother a bit and then the dinner ended. She left a bag for her brother which can be used in school and was filled with toys and snacks he liked. Thinking about him discovering the surprise and laughing made Valdis smile unconsciously. She did not miss that pout that appeared on his face when she came empty-handed but that carrot head did not ask her for a gift directly and came back to Moode immediately and still hugged her leg like a leg pendant.
Her father was planning to take her brother's admission in the elite school where only students with the best scores or rich backgrounds can enter. It was the best school in the city. She had also studied in that school but her admission was done because of her grades. She was always first in her class. While her brother though was good at studies it was not enough for him to enter the school. And their family was well off but not extremely rich. Earlier she was not able to help him but now she can.
Valdis went back home after this tiring day and went to take her beauty sleep.
