After driving a bit aways, I parked in the parking lot of a doughnut place. The doughnut place, like many other places here, is slightly worn down. But the sign that said 'Open' was a display that it's still operating.

"We're here to get food?" Calvin asked.

"Sort of." I replied.

We got out of the car and walked towards the front of the store. At the front, there are a few tables and chairs for patrons to sit at. They're mostly used by homeless people, who perch on these spots and ask incoming and outgoing customers for spare change. This morning, no one was here.

And no one was sitting in the spot that I specifically wanted to see. I instructed Calvin to sit across from me. Hesitantly, I sat in the seat that I remembered. As soon as my behind sat on the cold chair, all the memories came flooding in.

"You look sick." Calvin said to me.

"In some ways, yes." I replied, with a quiver in my voice. "Do you know why I brought you here?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "I thought we were gonna get food. Though your reaction before we even sat down implies that this is another difficult place from your past."

Of course he caught on. "I'm going to tell you a short story. This will be the first time I've told anyone about it. Not even Meredith knows about this. And when I'm done, don't say anything. Don't feel sorry for me, but also don't leave me." I said.

"I'm not going to leave you, Alistair. I'll sit here and listen to you." He said.

I took a deep breath. Before I could even speak, the memories washed over me like a sudden wave. For a moment, I didn't want to tell the story out of fear that I would suddenly be transported back in time to relive that moment. Though, Calvin's shoe rubbing against my pants brought me back to reality. And I came to the obvious conclusion that it's just a memory now.

"11th grade. I still remember the exact moment. I was in third period, AP US History. Adalyn Castillo had approached me that she wanted to go on a date with me."

"A date? I would guess it was here." Calvin said.

"In a sort of way. It was my first time going on a date. I still remember coming home and mom and dad being so excited about me going on my first date. They even spent some money on getting me new clothes. And then they gave me more to spend."

I began to swipe through my phone, skipping the hundred of photos of Luna until I found the picture I was looking for. The photo was taken right before I went on my date. I was wearing a white button up and black slacks that my mom ironed.

Even now, I feel guilty because she sleeps during the day but she still woke up and made sure I looked good. My hair was gelled back, because I had watched a movie where a guy had the exact style when he courted a woman.
