For a witchling like Boscha, nothing mattered to her more than two things in her life: grudgby and winning.

Upon waking up, she wasted no time in preparing for a new day at school. She stood in front of a mirror, with her trophy cabinet behind her. She took a deep breath with her hair down.

"You are talented. You are a star," she reminded herself while arranging her hair in a bun. "You may be hated so long as you are feared."

Boscha stood up with a little smirk and putting on her sports Captain jacket for the Hexside Grudgby squad.

"Most important of all...you are a winner," she said, removing the past month to show 'Grudgby Season' in large letters.

She dribbled a ball as she walked to school, with people watching her. She ignored them, reveling in her success.

"There she goes. Captain of the Banshees," an old witch gestured at her. "Off to win another championship for Hexside."

A mother questioned her kindergarten-aged son, "Why can't you be more like her?"

He let out a deep sigh and looked to the ground.

As Boscha arrived at Hexside, she noticed a poster wishing the Banshees good success. She spun the ball and threw it, with Skara, Cat, and Amelia at her side.

"All right, girls, you know the drill. Captain goes first," she said as she unlocked the doors. "Hello, Hexside! Your star has arrived. Groveling line starts here."

However, she discovered that no one was in line.

"Something's not right. Nobody's here!"

There were yellow and blue balloons, banners, and no people. She heard laughter and looked around the corner to see people standing in front of Willow, who was holding a plant.

"No way!"

"Do me next, do me," a student jerked his thumb at himself. Willow twirled around a spell circle, and the sapling transformed into an eggplant resembling the student in front of her.

"Welcome to the world, little buddy," he accepted happily. "You're the coolest, Willow."

"Aw, shucks," she replied, blushing.

"Yeah, Willow rules!" another student exclaimed, as Boscha walked past with her buddies.

"Wow, she has to make friends out of plants. How sad."

Willow frowned and turned away, but Amity walked by her. "Oh, please." She moved to the girl's side.

"You know, I used to be like you, Boscha. Obsessed with status, challenging my competition. But I grew up. When will you?"

Amity continued walking without them, and her eyes widened in response to the query. Her connection with Luz and Bijou had improved substantially, and she considered Boscha's actions revolting, so she had to leave her posse. She couldn't believe she used to behave that way...

The girls turned back to face Willow and the students, who were giggling. She wore an angry expression.

"Oh, this is not gonna fly."

As Eda dropped Bijou and Luz off at Hexside, fireworks went off.

"Our first grudgby season," Luz exclaimed joyfully as they dismounted off of Owlbert. "We're so excited! I even have more school spirit than the school spirits!"
