It started to get harder on how to lie to Robby as to why she was always home so late, telling him she was always at a friends house. Which was somewhat true, sometimes after the karate sessions, Miguel's mother made her dinner a few times, thanking the woman many times.

Raven didn't know if she was getting good or not, however she was able to punch Miguel without her hand hurting, her dad teaching her a few more skills.

"Think of it as self defence, but also.... he has no filter. Like he'll call it out with whatever— especially that ugly shirt." Raven told the two boys, walking to Demetris moms' car afterschool. Pointing to Demetri's Pi shirt, Eli stopped laughing when he realized.

Raven nodded at his concern, immediately knowing what he was going to ask, rubbing his back. "But think of it as motivation to kick someone else's ass." She told him, sitting in the back with him, smiling at Demetris mom

"You kids excited to do some karate?" His mom asked, Demetri saying all the cons about why we shouldn't go, Eli continuously watching the video of Miguel kicking all those guys ass. "We are." Eli told her, referring to him and Raven.

It wasn't a far drive— quicker than the bus, arriving to the dojo and seeing many kids surrounding the place already, all watching the YouTube video. Miguel was looking on his phone when he saw the three come, smiling at the boy.

"Hey, I'm happy you guys came." He told Demetri and Eli, the boys still very hesitant about this. "It's going to be fun." Raven agreed, ruffling Eli's hair, distracting him from the fact her dad will be making fun of him.

Hearing her dad's car come into the parking lot, Raven stood beside Miguel, bumping her hip with his. "You know you're the reason kids are even here right?" She asked, Miguel flushing red for a moment.

"Well— I guess. But he needs the students, I'm doing this for him." He said, smiling at her. Raven appreciated this kid, looking at him before Johnny came to the two.

"Looks like we're in business." He smiled at the two, Raven holding the door for everyone to walk in, all hearing them thanking her for doing that.

Not to the point where she also got a gi, Raven saw Aisha Robinson also here wearing one, a little surprised she would want to join, standing with Eli and Demetri.

"Raven you could kick someone's ass without karate, why are you even doing this?" Demetri asked, a little curious. "'Cause now I can kick someone's ass with purpose." She smiled, looking at Eli.

She could tell her was nervous about his lip, not really understanding why people liked to make fun of it, she always thought he was cute with or without it, her eyes lingering on him for a moment.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure he won't go too far." She told him, Eli appreciating that, Raven patting his arm. Watching her dad come out of his office, Raven noticed the way Aisha and Miguel were sparring a little, wondering when the girl even decided to join.

"QUIET!" Johnny yelled, telling them all to face him now, everyone listening to him. Johnny began to look around at who was standing in front of him, Raven knowing these aren't the type of people he wanted— nerds.

He smiled at his daughter as he looked at Demetris' shirt. "Nice shirt." He told him, Raven holding a laugh. "Thanks." Demetri told him, the girl shaking her head.

"I'm joking it sucks." Johnny told him, Raven smiling. "I told you." She whispered, Eli liking her sense of humour in this awkward moment.

Making the kids get into lines, took about twenty minutes before they were to even begin. Raven was a little nervous about this session, still examining everyone in the room. "Are you sure this is still a good idea?" Eli asked her, a little intimidated by her dad.
